If Commendations of service stay the way they are... the gem market could die

I know many people who all they do is pvp and have 100 of each type of mark... this would be worth 1.2 million honor (each 1 mark = 2000 honor). If gems do not go up in price that is 1200 gems! After getting alchemy up on 30 characters this is very disheartening.

PTR always has inflated stuff so people can test more, probably end up being under 200 honor per mark.

Even if the market is flooded...

The prices will tank for a little while.
As new gear becomes available, be it PvE raids or PvP arena seasons.
The market will correct itself.
It is all supply and demand.

Naturally, I'd rather if the market were not flooded.
And if gem prices stayed high or were to rise.

In a way, this expansion has been reduced to preparation for the next...
I don't have 5500+ gear score on any toons, which makes it hard to get into pug raids for anything.
And have close to full T9 badge gear on my PvE team, not a lot more for them to do.

Getting alchemists to maximum level, and bank a bunch of gold to level them to whatever the new cap will be, as quickly as possible next expansion...
Finish leveling all the teams I care to play...
And level the alt teams upwards, so they'll be able to get maximum trade skill levels next expansion too...
These will position my teams nicely, for when Cataclysm comes out, gear resets, new recipes emerge etc.

I may be confused but aren't epic gems = 10k honor so it takes 5 marks to get 1 that means 100 max*6BG= 600 marks so 600/5=120 gems each character which would crap out economy but wouldn't be as bad as discussed.

Yeah i hastily did my math, still 120 is a lot. I might have forgot a zero when dividing.

Just think of it as an investment for Cat, you know there will be some new xmute todo that will make you money and youll be able to capitalise on it a lot quicker then most. There will also be new cloths on a x day cooldown, new smelt etc etc etc.
