Default How much you think Frozen Orb will be worth after patch 3.3.3?

I'm sure some of you noticed this in the 3.3.3 PTR patch notes:

    • Frozo the Renowned has moved into the Dalaran Magus Commerce Exchange and will be trading your Frozen Orbs for various other trade goods.

For those curious, here are the items for which you can trade your Frozen Orbs to Frozo. These each cost 1 Frozen Orb unless noted otherwise in parentheses:

    • Crusader Orb (6)
    • Runed Orb (4)
    • Eternal Fire
    • Eternal Earth
    • Eternal Water
    • Eternal Air
    • Eternal Life
    • Eternal Shadow
    • Frost Lotus
    • Pattern: Frosty Flying Carpet [Tailors Only] (6)

Considering that the price will increase i belive, but mainly frost lotus price will greatly fall. Eternals sell for ~3-20g on horde side on my server and on ally side there is almost none up.
Frost lotus sell for ~50-60g now, and will fall in price alot i belive, to about same as the most expensive eternal i guess.

So how much do you think? i would guess around 20g, possibly slightly lower.

On the alliance side on my server they might be worth abit more considering it is so few items on ah at a time (usually 0-3 players selling same item) so its possible to put things abit overpriced (sold enchants for twice the crafting price and some items for like 5-20 times crafting price).

well on my server frozen orbs go between 8 and 15g so hoarding a few hundred now is now a bad idea. crusader orbs are 150g going by the math.. they will be worth around 60g to 80g eternat fires on my server are 20g each for again good investment.

one of two things will happen frozen orbs prices will go up, and the traded item for the will stay the same or it will be the opposite, frozen orbs will stay the same and the rest of the stuff will come down.

personally i'm betting on frozen orbs going up in price, wel on my servers anyway. i see it as a good opportunity for easy gold.

There's an option 3: Frozen orb prices go up and price of items purchasable with orbs go down. With the LFG tool there's being farmed a LOT of orbs that we never see, because people vendor them. Since only fire (and periodically air) eternals currently cost more than an orb (going for around 8-10g atm) - I'm guess that eternal fire will cost a bit less than the price of one orb after the patch (obviously) and the price of one orb is determined by the need for frost lotus. I'm guessing orbs will go for around 20g, although this would also depend on how many orbs for one lotus. I dont think the prices of runed and crusader orbs will be affected significantly, since people were already buying these with spare emblems, but again, this will depend on the final amount of frozen orbs they will cost.

Using Basic Suppy/Demand analysis, the demand curve for Frozen orbs will increase while the supply curve should stay the same. Prices will rise and volume (as sold over the AH) will increase.

For the trade goods, the demand curve isn't really affected, but the supply curve will increase, leading to lower prices and higher volume. Ultimately, the price of frozen orbs will roughly equate to the most expensive trade good, which will likely be eternal fire or frost lotus, potentially all three evening out. If frost lotus don't significantly drop, I don't foresee eternal prices fluctuating that much.

The need.greed dynamic for orbs might fluctuate a bit in randoms though.

I'd be more concerened with the number of people who have their wealth tied up in the high qulity cloths and titansteel. Sell that stuff before 0 day, because prices are going to tank, and pray to God you can hock your finished products before they tank as well.

Frozen Orbs sell for 3-5g on my server.
Eternals range from 10g to 30g.
Frost Lotus is in the 70-75g range.

Well, its safe to assume Frozen Orbs will come up some.
And Frost Lotus will go down some too.
Chances are, on the patch day you can use Frozen Orbs to purchase Frost Lotus and sell a bunch of those to those who don't read the patch notes.

Frozen orbs were 3g-5g last week and now 15-40g on my server. There's also several people in trade all day- buying all frozen orbs!

So I guess the word is out now.
