Default SSD and Raid 0 Connection

i've been reading that ppl connect their HDs to something called Raid 0... im not sure what it means. correct me if im wrong
    example:

    NR1:
you got 2 identical SSDs 100GB with 200read200write- if you connect each to "Sata1" and "Sata2" slot on your motherboard..

in your "My Computer"folder.. you will see 2 SSDs each 100Gbs.
the read and writing will stay at 200

    NR2:
    you got 2 identical SSDs 100GB with 200read200write -
if i connect them to the "Raid 0" slot on the motherboard......
(what hardware do i need to connect more SSD/HDs to this one slot)

in your "My Computer"folder.. i will see 1SSD with a total of 200GB
and the read/write speed has increased to 400/400

and i if install reinstall the OS after the raid 0 settings are done.
    the pc will work faster..

Remember this is just an example..... am thinking right?

will this help me out if i want to multibox and do some heavy program to video/sound/graphic editing?

Total overkill. If the only reason for the SSD is WoW then just get a cheap MLC SSD. I use my RiData 32GB and it works very well for 5-boxing.

I'm struggling to get my SSD to work out right, atm. I can't get my computer setup in AHCI mode My SSD is currently less smooth than my 7200 rmp raid0 array, lol.

did this happen after u tried the Raid 0 thingie like i am wondering about?
if so.. then i might think again about Raid 0 setup..

but when i get the SSD should i connect it to Sata 1 slot on my motherboard (if i dont want to use raid 0 )
    then its ready to go?

Page describing RAID configurations, all of which require 2 or more hard drives.

I think you're mistaking the SATA port labeled "RAID 0" on the motherboard for RAID 0 configurations. You should have 2 or more ports in a cluster all labeled "RAID #" where # is 0, 1, 2, 3, etc. "RAID 0" on my machine is in the same SATA ports as normal (SATA 0 and SATA 2), I just have to configure it for RAID 0 mode in BIOS.

WARNING: Changing your drive from normal to RAID mode WILL destroy your partitions and all data on them!
