    For the first time ever:

Wife: You can play as long as you're multiboxing.

Seriously, multiboxing saved my marriage. Being able to AFK any time I want (hell, I've walked away in the middle of tough fights) makes multiboxing awesome.

Back in the BC days, I had my guildmates run through to Blackheart the Inciter for the trinket about 15 times (for my tank). No trinket dropped and 2 evenings wasted. Of course, nothing they wanted dropped... and my god how boring!

Three days later my guildmates asked me to help them with a run. I agreed (they had to have a tank...) and 2 minutes later my wife walks in to say her best friend from out of town wants to go to dinner with us.

    Suck.

Shortly after that I started multiboxing. As my guild fell apart I simply ignored the chaos and enjoyed the blissful silence of Guild Chat. Soon I was able to complete content alone that my guild couldn't do together. Oddly enough, I still don't have that trinket... oh well

Being able to take as long a break as I want in the middle of doing an instance has been invaluable for me.

Completing all the Heroics in about 2 - 3 hours while at the same time not once having to put up with some annoying whiny little beotch, complaints about loot, or any other kind of drama. Then log off and enjoy the rest of the day with my friends.

Tanking TOC25 on my Warrior on one screen while doing ICC25 on my Hunter in the window behind it. (A !@#$ ton of alt-tabbing in the middle). And winning loot on both of them.

Other than that, it's the little things. Being able to log on an alt to buy something from the AH and run it to the raid instance without my main leaving is nice, so is checking the AH on my banker alt, or just taking 2 of my characters (all different classes/names) into 1 heroic/raid without anyone else ever knowing until it's too late...Good times.

    +1

Last night I put my daughter to bed as I was running Heroic DTK. Parked my team in front of Novos. When I put her in bed she woke up and wanted me to stay with her until she fell back asleep. 20 minutes later I snuck out of the room and finished stomping the instance.

    Win!

Coglistings... I'm right on the brink of doing this very thing myself. How's it worked out for you? Has it been worth it? Any unexpected complications?

Playing the AH during a raid to cover the repair bill. When people talk about how much they lost I talk about how much I made. +1 for doing something else while raiding with 1 character(one time I did a voa during downtime), and +1 for being able to break whenever you want without inconveniencing a whole group.

Making movies of doing the things mentioned in this thread.

    Faction Leaders 5-boxed

Someone should make a movie of themselves running two different raids at the same time.
Maybe whisper yourself back and forth a bit during it to prove it is actually done simultaneously.
I'm going to live forever, or die trying.

When "Looking for guild charter signatures, paying 10G" looks far more appealing.

Having the Badboy addon, and automatically reporting gold sellers 5 times.

When choosing trade skills is about which one not to pick.

But most of all, it's not just about being able to run instances at your own pace, and the satisfaction of completing them solo.

It's about really being able to experience the lore and the ambience of those places. Doing all the quest chains that lead up to a place like Wailing Caverns, really understanding what's going on in there, and being able to become a part of that.

When your party of adventurers can remain a party for the whole of the game, and really have adventures. When all finishing an instance means, is it's time to start another adventure.

    WoW had a Cataclysm.
    I quit.

Now 3-boxing EVE until CCP mess that up.
