    Default Arcane Loops of Anger in FoS

    Has anyone had this drop recently? I've been hunting it for a long time and even after 35 kills on my mage (http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sh...tol&cn=Myalfon) - no drop. So I just calculated the chance of this item not dropping 35 times in a row and unless my math is way off:

    0,87^35 = 0,008 (rounded up) which is basically 0,8 percent (wowhead lists it as a 13 percent drop). I know it can drop, because I have it on another char (mage wasn't on that run) - do any of you know if the droprate has been altered after a patch or something? Or am I just that unlucky?

    Edit: Make that 36.

    In all the times I've done FoS (I've done it probably 15-25 times), I've seen it drop probably 3 or 4 times, you're just unlucky.

    I have run it 20-30 times now and on my last run It dropped the third time.

    Been trying for this neck with my main team for quite some time now. Am at about 22 runs, not a single neck...

    Got FoS as random heroic with an alt team 3 days ago, so I ran it for the very first time and guess what, the neck dropped... head->desk

    Coil of Missing Gems in Normal FoS is an easy drop, not just as good as Arcane Loops of Anger but could easily fill the slot . The sword is the one which drops a lot there for me, nearly all my casters have the sword, quite nice :P

    I feel your pain Fuzzy! I've seen one drop (first time I cleared the place) and have been hoping for another since!

    that goes with my argument that Blizzard weights the drops against the team made. same team gets roughly the same drops. multiboxers are the only people that can see this weighting process because we are the only people that put up exactly the same team every time. I tried to gear out a priest starting at level 75 and didn't get hardly anything for all of my ToC runs from 75->80. I've been told I'm just lucky to get the same plate items dropped several runs in a row.... right.

    That really doesn't make any sense. Why on earth would Blizzard go out of their way to make drops non-random? Look at it this way - a boss has a loot table, which consists of a number of item-id's and a droprate. What would be easier and more logical and more fair:

    a) Generate a random number to determine what drops or
    b) Somehow hash the character id's of the characters killing the boss and running a function against the loot-table in order to make it not random

    I wasn't really hinting at some unknown conspiracy, more in the line of if someone had knowledge of them changing droprates or a known bug (I know on wowhead, the arcane loops was listed as alliance-only for a while - this error is still on RAWR).

    While 0.8 pct is not a lot, consider how often we get drops that have less droprate than that. Most likely it's more probable that the arcane loops don't drop 40 times in a row, than getting 1 hilt in 40 runs - and I've had my share of luck with the hilts. It's just random bad luck I guess, unless there's a bug I don't know of...

    It's all luck or lack of luck. A buddy of mine just leveled a prot pally and got the shield in H CoS, Lucky sun in reg FoS, tank boots and the Black Heart in reg ToC all on the first run of each instance. Two night later got the 232 tank weapon out of H PoS and that pisses me off to no end. On the subject of Arcane Loopy of Bad Luck, I got the Seethe on the first run with my mage and the necklace on the third run. The same buddy's lock got the necklace on the second time.
