    Default Weekly Update #1

For those of you whom were interested in my last thread I've been told that doing this sorta thing is not only OK but it is encouraged. That being said... Lets jump right into it. Wall of text incoming.

Over the past two weeks i have met a few multi-boxers on my server. Some of them are good and some of them are not as good. They are all very pleasant to talk to though so we have swapped strats for some fights etc...the only non-ICC related fights i have not done are eregos (5 boxing at least, i did it with 4 and my friend) and i continue having problems with herald and bran's encounter.

I know that with the amount of time i have to play there is no way i can get what i want done alone. So i've employed a few people to help with some of the more painful processes i'm going through at the moment. This mainly is for leveling my profession alts and help with farming the herbs necessary for alchemy. I'm going to shout out fathertyme, fatclaw and my newest runner holyheart for helping me level my 30 alt characcters to 65. At the time of this writing i have 2 groups to go but they are already 63 and holyheart is currently able to clear UB in around 11 minuets per run (full clear) so i'm getting about 1 level per hour with this. Without these guys help i'd still be twiddling my thumbs and wanting to cut my wrists from doing so many ramps/underbog runs myself.

Since i am going for 30x alchemist/tailors i am in the process of getting all of the herbs that i need. So far i have about 1/3 of what is necessary but am severely lacking in stranglekelp, golden sansam and briarthorn. Fatclaw, holyheart and myself are going to be farming herbs of these types and others for the job to get done as soon as possible. There will be somewhere around 12 hours total done of farming these herbs per day between the three of us. So all of my characters should be done by march first... if we're lucky. I still need quite a bit of herbs. I also have been camping both the horde and alliance auctionhouses and realized that the alliance sell herbs much cheaper... too bad i only figured this out 2 days ago.

On the subject of horde to alliance transactions... there are tons of opportunities i will be taking advantage of soon. Such as gems selling for an extra 90g per gem or so! There seems to be huge demand on the alliance side for eternal fires but a limited supply... so it's an easy 15g profit per after all the auction house transactions. I highly suggest people take a look at the differences in prices of trade goods and such as there seems to be huge profits to be made.

To end this I found three different people whom are willing to accommodate all of my materials i produce per week in UNLIMITED quantities. The prices i will be getting are as follows.

    Cardinal ruby: 140g per
    Kings/Majestic : 130g per
    Ametrine/Zul/Dread: 100g per
    Infinite dust: 25g per stack
Greater cosmic essence: 140g per stack
    Dream shard: 105g per stack
    Abyss crystals: 400g per stack
    Spellweave: 120g per
    moonshroud: 75g per
    shadoweave: 75g per

Overall i'd say it's been a productive week... since friday i've been working on my profession alts and tonight they will all be done. So next week hopefully i can update that i have 15 alchemists! or more!

I'll post some SS of my gbank which is full of herbs and such later if necessary

There are a few things. Ramparts = don't have to pay attention and can do something on my 5th toon that is productive (like farming herbs), takes less time for other runs like UB or SH. When i do things myself it still takes a bit of time if it is not Ramps. Also have people to talk to and interact with.... doing things 100% by yourself ALL the time gets a bit lonely. Plus some of my alts are on my main account so i can't run them myself for all teams.

So its basically the, "You scratch my back, I'll scratch your back." kind of principle.

You've done things for them, and will in the future.
And they're helping you out now, and also likely in the past/future too.

    That works.
I've always done all of my own boosting/leveling.
And have done leveling for friends.
Have boosted my roommates lower alts with my semi-geared pally, basically he's watching tv and I let him know when to move up.
    EverQuest I: Bard / Enchanter / Druid / Wizard / 2x Magician.
    Diablo III: 4x Crusader & 4x Wizard.

    I can imagine the setting:
    > 'get out of the chair you lazy prick and move your toons'
< 'dude, is it that hard to change keyboards and do that for me? i'm watching boobies'
    > no man can do that, we play by the rules!

while it's a good rule, it must lead to some very unpractical situations sometimes

    btw OP, good read

Btw from my recollection i farmed a lot of Briarthorn in SM as part of the leveling process, have some still in the guild bank for future leveling due to it not always being available on the AH.
Something I often think of with gathering is that if there is enough of the mats on the AH, it is sometimes best to farm another mat that might be easier to farm and then sell the mat that is easy to farm and buy the other mat from the AH.
