This is all really odd. I just started doing PvE gear with my warlocks. I'm running three of them at a time in random heroics. I haven't had a single bad reaction. I've only had one or two people say anything bad at all, ever. If someone criticizes me in the bg's, I don't even have to defend myself as others jump all over them.

If only the alliance were as tolerant to boxers as the horde seem to be. I've played both factions, seen idiots on both sides, but the peculiar kind of irrational intolerance has come more often from the alliance side.

I get the usual judgemental and ill-informed idiots yelling "cheat" or "hacker" or "you are using bots" or "you are just doing it to sell them on Ebay" or "how can you afford those accounts? you have too much money" or "you're wasting your time and your money with that" and the strange assertion that the only possible thing that could cause lag in the game is someone multiboxing. My team is also a target for blame in the eternal game of "We lost this BG because..."

But I also get the more insistent mindless abuse. After a long fight with about a dozen of the enemy faction, during which four of my chars died and self-rezzed, I noticed a supposed team-mate standing a little distance away, who'd done absolutely nothing to help. What surprised me was his angry speech: "I hate your chars. Why don't they die? Please die". Every time I saw him in the BG later, he'd yell "Dieeeeeeee!" He didn't seem to grasp that we were on the same team and that I was earning him XP and honour.

There was also someone who said he hated characters that looked the same and have the same gear and similar names. That it was pointless and boring. He's entitled to his opinion, but I'm also entitled to make my chars as similar as possible because it makes it difficult for enemy players using voice chat to target me. That's kind of the point for me.

I'm sure we've all come across the special brand of ignorance that is reserved for multiboxers. But at the end of the day, people are spouting off for only one of two reasons. Either you've just ganked them, or they're jealous (and don't have the time, ability or inclination to multibox themselves).

On the plus side, plenty have people have stuck up for me in BGs (usually when I've been at the high end of the bracket and causing the opposing faction a lot of grief) and lots have actively chosen to stick with me as support to get the job done. Personally, I just generally feel sorry for the idiots who mouth off. What kind of life do they have if they're reducing to insulting someone in a computer game?

@ augiel, the fact that someone takes the time to tell you that he hates you, that you suck, etc .. tells enough about that person I can't imagine a single situation where i would tell someone that he looks ugly, is a crappy player, is dumb or that i hate him (apart from the occasional joke obviously)

Wow is nothing more than a snapshot of the people who live in ur street, quarter, village & country. And a good part of them are bloody idiots.
