Default Level 19 4Sham/1Pal team is getting creamed in RFC. Help?

I am clearly not doing something right.

I'm trying to do Ragefire Chasm with my level 19 team of 4 Elemental Shamans and a Tankadin, but I am getting slaughtered every time.

I've tried to try the /follow route, with all four shamans just following the Paladin into fights, but the Paladin doesn't hold aggro and a shaman dies often as they spam lightning bolt and the Paladin pounds away.

I've tried keeping the Shamans back and trying to grab aggro with the Paladin, but without any kind of ranged attack he pulls two or three mobs and gets clobbered by DPS that shamans can't heal while still doing DPS.

I've tried pulling a single mob with the Shamans, and then trying to recover aggro using the Paladin, but that doesn't work too well either.

Part of it is also that this is my first instance while multiboxing and I haven't really had to develop any kind of tactics while questing, since I could single out a mob and blast the guy. Elites don't go down so easily and I can't pull singles as easily.

Can anyone offer any advice? It's frustrating that I'm wiping over and over again on the easiest instance in the game.

Best bet, wait until level 20. Just because RFC is the earliest dungeon in the game doesn't make it the easiest. It actually is not the most pleasant experience for sham/pally team. There's a lot of nature immune mobs and you'll need consecrate to keep agro, which you won't get until 20.

The Almighty Lax made a liar out of me, apparently I DO get prizes for it.

    Meh.

The nature immune thing made me switch from 5 Shamans to 4Sham/1Pal. I've waited this long, I can wait another level.

By the way, the Black Company was a great freakin' series.

Default At level 19 you have at least 2 taunts _

At level 19 you have all these great aggro holders.

    1. Always have Righteous Fury on.
    2. Use Hand of Reckoning for pulls and during the fight.
    3. Use Righteous Defense if one of the shamans get into trouble

I had similar problems in the Chasm, and I must admit that using the addon Tauntmaster helped alot, if a toon grabs aggro just right click on their name, that activates Righteous Defense and voila the mob is back on you.

I believe I started ragefire chasm at around level 16-17 as I recall, it tough but once you get the hang of it, its quite easy

    Yay!

Finally figured it out and RFC fell to me just now.

It was all a matter of learning to leave the casters behind and roam free with the Paladin, letting him perform pulls while staying in support range of the casters ability to lob dps and heals.

It took me a while to get used to mana management (still an issue that I'm working on) and what happens when I pull three or four by mistake and one goes after the casters. Generally it all goes to pot at that point, because I loce track of which movement keys are party leader-only and what apply to all. I end up with slaves turned the wrong way and taking themselves out of the fight, or my Paladin trying to draw fire with 6hp left because I've been trying to save a shaman, and so on.

At least now I can res, so if a toon dies it isn't a major inconveience.

Now if I could just find some gold to get all my guys skilled up.
