    Default ToC & ICC loot drops weighted against the team

    I'm not enjoying raiding, spending 4 hours to kill 0->4 bosses only to not win any rolls isn't fun to me.
    the only fun I have these days is leveling up my alts and gearing them out.

    you would think that a fresh new 80 in green/blues could be dragged through ICC or ToC non-heroics back-back to get at least something to wear.

    I've done enough alts and enough runs of these instances to know that the gear drops are seriously weighted against the team.
    if I bring a fresh warlock in with well geared(3 shaman and a pally) and run back-back ICC 5x I get the same drops of plate gear in at least 80% of the passes. if I bring a fresh pally through only cloth drops.

    I fully understand statistics and the odds of a boss that can drop 13 items to only drop the same plate item 80% of the time is not random. I can' only assume Bliz does this to prevent people from doing some type of leveling/gearing services.

    I know I complained about the random dungeon finder not being random and they actually fixed that. I find the random dungeon finder is really random now.

    This non-random drops is taking what little fun I have left in the game out of it. I feel like I just waisted 4 hours doing non-heroic ICC hoping for either cloth or a weapon, I would have been far better off just dragging the under geared toon through random heroic dungeons with the same team.

    The word "random" does support > 80% of the time. Its called a bad streak.

    I have the same issues with the new 5 mans - the loot sucks. The drops I want seem to only drop when I don't bring the character that needs it.

    Oh well, thats why its called farming.

    I agree raiding for extended periods and not winning rolls on your drops isn't any fun. In my experience, I haven't won any loot in our group runs for nearly 2 months, until just recently, I wasn't losing rolls, the gear just wasn't dropping. I'm fortunate enough to be in a group where I can pretty much have my choice at whatever drops I need that are an upgrade, but that doesn't help you when the loot doesn't drop.

    It always comes down to random loot is random, they could do much better IMO. There is nothing like clearing ToC and sharding every single drop except 1 or 2. Our raid group did this numerous times. They should have loot drops based on the classes represented. Instead of 6 hunter drops in a VoA group with NO hunters.

    We were talking about this in guild vent last night. Blizz can't have loot tables favor the toons in the raid because it will result in people stacking certain classes in a raid, and not permitting classes that would get a chance at another gear type. I still think it's random, just a lot of bad luck.

    Its random! I took my level 75 warlock though forged souls and got all the cloth items. belt..neck and wand in about 7 runs. I used the same 3 shams and pal tank. Now when I farmed my abyss trinks, i got 3, virtually back to back, when ToC first came out. I have ran it many many times since and have not seen another one drop.

    Would a "Cache of Eregos" type system help fix the loot issue? What i mean is after each raid boss everyone loots the body or a box or whatever and receives a bag with a random goody in it. The random piece would depend on their class and the loot table for the boss. The loot would not be guaranteed and individual pieces would still have the same drop rate they currently do. For example, you are a caster and really want the new +sp dagger that drops off a boss at a rate of 25%. After downing the boss you get a baggy that has a 25% chance to give you the new dagger (and say a 15% change to give you some new boots or whatever else is in the loot table designed for casters, but only one item per bag is present). There may also be a % change to get no gear in the bag. If that were to happen the bag may contain a frost emblem and some gold or a gem or whatever.

    As a non-raider, I have no idea if this system would be valuable or desired. From an outside perspective, it seems like a solution to loot drama, and grinding for weeks/months and not getting anything for your effort. Thoughts?

    No, because then have you have the broken PvP system.

    Run X BG Y times and get full season Z PvP gear.

    As opposed to run X heroics Y times to get T9? hehehe

    Unless you are both on 10 and 25 man raid teams and able to run the heroic versions, it would be very difficult to grind raids like you grind BGs. You can still only kill each boss once per raid per week. I do see your point though that if you are downing say 10 bosses per week, you could get geared rather quickly.
