    Default Accidental AFKing

I've had a problem where my "alts" go afk even though i am using them . . . i think its just because i dont have that window open. there is a new policy in blizzard that i would like to make others with this problem aware of
[and if you know how to fix this please tell me]

Jumping or pressing one of the movement keys clears AFK. I usually just jump when my slave toons get an AFK tag.
This assumes you have AutoClear AFK checked in your interface options. Of course, the AFK tag is not going to get you in trouble in the BGs. You can leave that on all day and nobody can say anything to you.

Some actions reset the afk timer, others don't; my advice is to jump often. Thankfully, all my guys are night elves, so Jumping often's not an issue :p

So I was guarding LM, and my three locks were the only ones up there, and no one attacked it for a long time. Then I see in chat someone say "Someone watch LM, the Ryans just left." My second and third locks went afk because I forgot to keep jumping. So, yeah, it's a pain. You gotta get into the habit of jumping. A lot.

It doesn't matter if you go afk. There is actually an option to not clear your AFK tag on movement so simply having the flag up is meaningless.

Just make sure you monitor whispers, either through a mod or visually. Generally I DND, but stupidly that is overwritten by AFK so just be aware.

Just so you know if you accidentally afk and some alts get kicked from the BG you don't have to worry. They are only taking action against people being reported as afk in the bg's and get the no honor debuff.

Keep in mind that as a multiboxer, you're going to be misunderstood quite a bit and probably reported as a "bot". I'd be interested in how the GMs deal with people harass-flagging you as a bot even though you're a multiboxer.

If you've ever had a conversation with a GM, I'd suggest requesting that they put a flag on your account saying that you're a multiboxer so that they're aware of this in case they have to do any investigations.

Found out two days ago that someone who was harass'flagging people and harass GM-calling on people(including me) received a perma ban for it. Someone reported him for calling GMs on people for every little thing or just because he didnt like them. So Id say they take false-calls pretty seriously.

As for going afk in BGs, even if you arent doing it on purpose it certainly does not make you look very good. I just get into the habbit of jumping periodically on all my chars even when not in BGs just to make sure they dont appear AFK unless I want them to, in which case I set an /afk message on all of them.

True, except for the fact that the public is not exactly very bright, and to the casual uninformed user, we DO look like bots.

Most people can't wrap their mind around the /macro and /follow command, so it's perfectly legitimate for us to be reported by these players who honestly believe we are bots.

I think part of the 2-hour long "waiting on a GM" process does involve them looking into the ticket before their responses, and if we're already "multiboxer flagged", it gives them an easy way to explain to players that multiboxing is not botting and not against the ToU.

Anyway, just a suggestion for those who were worried - requesting that your account be flagged as a multiboxer might not be a bad idea.

Well he deserved it. he was the kind of person who just spamms 'REPORTED LOL BOT' no matter what you try to explain to them. On an musing note one of his guildies was there as well and thought what I ws doing was awsome. I spent the next 2 days with him in my vent getting him setup, his 5 shamans are lvl 8 last I checked lol.

I find if I mess around with someone who thinks Im a bot, like run each character aaround, cast spells and /dance they just laugh and move on with the new opnion of "that was awsome" rather than "reporting that botting bastard" lol So I have not had hardly any GM calls yet and really dont expect to.
