Default DK Tank expertise and hit requirements

I read that a dk tank needs 26 expertise and to try and be hit capped. Does the expertise mean the number you see when you look at the melee drop down or the number it shows you when you mouse over expertise? Should I just put 10 Expertise +15 staminas in all red sockets and then 10 hit and 15stamina in yellows? If thats a yes I just wasted some gold on dodge stam and defense stam gems.

Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?”

I'm sort of in this crux myself. I thought the expertise rating was higher, but the hit vs. mitigation is messing me up. It's very noticeable too. My DK seems rather squishy. I miss block rating, lol. Part of it is that I'm so used to the Prot Pally mechanic that I am struggling to get comfortable with DKs.

Both Hit and Expertise help generate threat.

33 Hit Rating = 1% increased chance to hit
33 Expertise Rating = 4 Expertise Skill = 1% reduced chance for mob to block or parry

26 Expertise skill eliminates the chance for a boss mob to dodge (soft Expertise cap)
57 Expertise skill eliminates the chance for a boss mob to parry (hard Expertise cap)

Having enough effective health and avoidance for a boss fight is usually the priority, threat is the next thing to focus on - but you can't just stack one and not worry about the other.
