    Lightbulb ISB vs Keyclone

I am just coming back from a year or so break from multiboxing, and am getting ready to dive head first in. I guess the only big question I have is, how is this ISBoxer? Would anyone reccomend it over keyclone? I will probably start out with like dual boxing until I get the dust off my knuckles, but will eventually be back to 5boxing.

Just looking for a brief comparison and/or reccomendation.

    Thanks ahead of time.

there is no comparison at the moment. isboxer outshines everything else.

    Your opinion may vary.

Personally I like Keyclone - It's extremely simple and easy to use, took me 10 minutes to figure out how it worked when I first downloaded it forever ago, I paid once, and it's mine forever. Rob also provides ridiculously excellent support.

ISBoxer, while it has a ton of great features, is not nearly as intuitive to start, has a subscription fee, and for me just didn't 'mesh'

However, if I ever started melee multiboxing, I could see having to switch to ISBoxer, as it has many elegant solutions to the problems of melee multiboxing.

Naysayer! You were the first person to help me out back in '08 when I got started, good to see you are still around.

I will give isboxer a shot, looks pretty simple to start runnin with, and the features look amazing, always will have my keyclone just incase. Thanks for your input both of you!

    Comparing the two.

Keyclone is $20 for a lifetime license, which is good on a single computer.
IS Boxer is $36 per year, and can be used on up to 5 computers.

They both have wizards, to set up a basic configuration.
They both have maximizer/layout picture in picture.
They can both accurately broadcast keys 1:1 (send the same key to all clients).

    Beyond that, IS Boxer offers:

Automatic FTL set up, no need for macros.
Instant window swap, as quickly as you can hit the keys.
    Accurate and fast mouse broadcasting.
Send next click option for easy ground target spells.
    Repeater regions for healing.
Keymaps, which are like hotkeys/macros but very powerful and flexible.

    Coming from Keyclone...

    Keyclone offers key replication.
You can blacklist certain keys so they only affect the current window.
Or you whitelist keys, so only those keys are broadcast.

IS Boxer has both Keymaps and a Repeater mode.
If both are on, Keymaps take priority.
With Repeater on and Keymaps off, it functions like Keyclone. (This is a good way to enter your password).
You can whitelist or blacklist, if you want.
But Keymaps are a far stronger option.
Most of the time, you'll want Repeater off and Keymaps on.

With Keymaps, you pick the hotkey to activate it, which windows (characters) get the hotkey, and what the mapped key does.
For example, you can send it to (windows: all without current), for independent slave movement, irregardless of the window you are in.
Or you can target members of one class only, and not others (via Action Target Groups).

Anything which is not a hotkey for a mapped key, is effectively black listed.
As in, it only affects the current window.
    EverQuest I: Bard / Enchanter / Druid / Wizard / 2x Magician.
    Diablo III: 4x Crusader & 4x Wizard.

IS boxer is very complicated and keyclone is for anyone slow like me. I will eventually switch over but it's just a huge learning curve and hours of setup for isboxer. If you are coming back and want to start learning from scratch get isboxer.
“Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?”

Just my 2 cents, keyclone for me never worked the way I wanted it, I tried ISboxer and within 15 minutes I had a team up and running through ISBoxer's setup wizard.
Only for ISBoxer I would not be boxing right now.
I was only thinking this morning how awesome ISboxer is and the amount of flexibility it provides.
So for me ISBoxer and Keyclone cannot be compared (I have two keyclone licenses).
Only down side is the subscription basis of ISBoxer but in my opinion it is worth every penny.

If you are happy to run with the wizard as it configures your set up.

In under a minute, IS Boxer will get you:

On a switch, the others automatically follow the new master.
Any DPS key pushed (1 through =), will have each slave push the same key but assist the current master first (No need for WoW macros, the FTL is automatic).
You have a hotkey for Repeater and another for Keymaps.

The only confusing portion for a new user.
Turn off Keymaps and Repeater on for Passwords.
    Turn both off to chat.
Otherwise, Keymaps on and Repeater off to play.

Keyclone has a Mute button, which is broadcast on or off.
IS Boxer has two buttons, one for keymaps and one for repeater.
    EverQuest I: Bard / Enchanter / Druid / Wizard / 2x Magician.
    Diablo III: 4x Crusader & 4x Wizard.

IS Boxer has two buttons, one for keymaps and one for repeater.
The under minute setup along with the ability to do key maps and not be forced into 1:1 key broadcasting was what attracted me to ISBoxer.

I did have a functioning setup using free s/w that worked but I couldn't adapt or play/tinker with as I can with ISBoxer.

I also like the instant switching with ISBoxer and the mouse repeater regions.

Also, ISBoxer has a free 7 day trial, not sure if keyclone does something similar or not.
