    Default [DAOC] Send feedback now

Mythic is finally paying attention to multiboxing.

Lori Hyrup, one of the developers on Mythic's DAOC team, is quoted today saying that she's talking to Mythic customer service to see whether multiboxing software is legal in DAOC.

This means that Mythic is about to make a decision about whether multiboxing software is allowed. If you want to influence that decision, send feedback now.

Lori is quoted in this thread on VN:

DAOC came out two and a half years after Everquest.

I left my bit (as Menlaben), but I really am starting to lose hope when it comes to dealing with game makers' Customer Service Teams. Freddie, I'm sure you are aware of Sony's new stance on ANY sort of key broadcasting...

I like what you wrote. I'm not sure whether Lori is still following that thread. The important quotations from her in the thread don't come from the thread. (You would expect them to come from the thread, but scroll up and look, they don't.) Maybe they come from emails that Lori sent to the person who posted them.

It might be a good idea to send a copy of your comments to Lori via Mythic's feedback form on the Herald.

I think it's very unlikely that Lori and her colleagues will be influenced by Sony. If they are going to be influenced by some other company, it will be Blizzard, because Mythic hs been imitating WoW for years. They obviously look at WoW as a role model and chief competitor. And it would be good if they copy WoW's rules on multiboxing.

Only Ultima Online came out before Everquest, but Ultima Online didn't use a 3D interface. Everquest was the first MMORPG (Mostly Men Online Role Playing as Girls) to utilize 3D graphics cards and you had to have a 3D graphics card to play it.

And The Realm was before UO. Our history lesson is complete.

Those listed before The Realm would not be considered an mmo by any intelligent person, and text based muds are a different catagory.

The Realm was the first public graphical mmorpg.

Funny how MMO doesn't have any comments as to graphics in the acronym. An intelligent person would catch that.
