Default boxing just 4, pugging the 5th, my experiences

I just thought I'd share my experience with pugging with the new system. I personally dislike healing, especially while boxing. It always slowed me down. I started out just pugging one at a time, then doing 2 dps, then 3 dps, but the queue times for DPS is abysmal. When I am on my tank, its instant. (i should lvl another tank lol) So last night I chain farmed heroics with just 4 dps, and it was extremely smooth. Ironically the first one I got was ToC, and I wiped on the first "boss" multiple times, and I had 4 healers leave... once I got one to stay, we cleared it, and kept the group together for multiple other runs, until that healer had to leave, i was then grouped with another, and we ran multiple heroics (I think i got a total of 70 badges that night...) We ended with occulus, and it went very smooth (note to self: fix the focus macro to hardcode team leader, every time you summon the drake you lose /focus, also, you cant click all drakes at once, not all of them will get to mount and you have to wait for the cooldown. Maybe make a round robin key for that?) We one shot everything, and when it came time to loot the extra badges, one of my toons got the blue drake! Interestingly, the only toon that had epic flyer training got the mount... Has anyone noticed if toons that dont have epic flying can get the drake? I also got a bronze drake from CoS. I also had a few epic achievement spams... one toon got 5 achievements in one.... (one of the occulus voids, completing occulus, completing heroic occulus, "northrend dungeonmaster" and champion of the frozen wastes)

I plan on doing it again this weekend... maybe using a guildie next time that expressed interest.

I didnt mention anything about boxing, some people said oh you are boxing? but most just healed away. I turned on "pass on loot" on 3 of my alts, just to make things faster. I mostly want badges, so i could care less about gear, and I have plenty of shards/dust.

I'll chime in on this, and also give you a couple pointers!

I run Feral druid + 3 dps dk's as my main boxing team, and i generally find time throughout the week to pug ten mans with all of them AND raid 3 days a week on my main dk in 25 mans. I LOVE my tank/3 dps team. Its fun to show off for your healers, and i've even become famous in a couple guilds cross server! i've had the pleasure of meeting several healers from some good guilds and tehy all know about "that cool dk multiboxer from azgalor server lol! i dont care who you are FAME IS FUN!! lol

Plus it lets me be JUST A LIL BIT anti social while not having to deal with 4 other dickbags 1(the healer) is enough! lol Of course you get a random healer every now and then that hasn't seen anything like this before, or one that thinks you're "botting" and they just leave, I usually just lol and continue killing trash solo till another healer arrives.

I've had a blast so far with the random dungeon thing. The only problem i've seen/had has been that whenever i load into an instance it takes an abnormally LONG LONG time for all my toons to load! As such i've had healers standing there bitching and whining "lets go, hurry HURRY!" then leave. Oh well lol i get another healer almost instantly anyway once i'm loaded in. It seems once i've gotten my team into an instance, that after that run and any others, that the load time increases, not sure why but i would love to figure it out.
I also turn off pass on loot unless i'm in fos or pos heroics. I may be kind and gentle when it comes to random trash, but if i got the chance to horde a battered hilt drop, /BACKOFF /e says "THATS MINE BEEEOTTCCHH!!!" lol of course there is a SMALL chance 1 in 5 that the healer gets it, but i'll definitely stack the odds in my favor lol. If he gets mad, he can leave and i can replace him with another healer in seconds anyway lol

On to the pointers, When in oculus, to mount on all your drakes at once, just set up and use a spread out macro. YOU CANNOT STAND IN ONE BIG PILE!!!! lol if you stand in one big pile some of your team hops on the others mount and then you're left without mounting, but if you spread out, either in a line, or a Plus formation where the drakes dont all land in teh same spot, you'll have no problems !

You said something to the affect of needing a master focus key, If you use a focus as lead setup you'll already have these lol you can also use a macro for /follow party1 /assist party1 (this will assist and follow the leader of the group, which generally is going to be you!"

Thanks for the spread out pointer, didnt think of that.

The focus problem I have is just a result of my mixnmatch team, one of my teams. most of my toons are set to /focus party1 which breaks when the 5th happens to get leader, which was the case in my occulus run. I need to standardize my setup. Maybe some sort of macro that will focus my main if its present, or focus party1 if not? can i do

    /focus toon1
    /focus toon 2

and will it work if toon1 is offline? Sometimes I swap leaders...

WTB feature to auto select DE on greens, and blues, so i only have to worry about purples. And Auto DE stuff thats un-equippable...

    You could try something like:
    /Focus [ToonA, exists]

It shouldn't focus a toon who is not there, but should if they're present.
    EverQuest I: Bard / Enchanter / Druid / Wizard / 2x Magician.
    Diablo III: 4x Crusader & 4x Wizard.

You can mount all at once via mouseclick broadcast if you just spread formation first.

i have 4 macros set up on my PiP keys when I swap them in and out. each macro selects whichever toon is going to be my main focus screen and sets them both to focus and party leader if possible. each macro looks like this:

Account 1 (these are the same on each account, but with different names
    /focus Kauldwynn
    /focus Bynton
    /focus Lansylot
(these are repeated for each toon name in that realm list)
(then after all the /focus commands)
    /jamba-invite team
    /promote
(then the /jamba autofollow command. can't remember right off hand what the right one is for that now.)

everytime I hit the PiP keys for Keyclone to swap out, it changes both party leader and focus to that toon. they all have the commands by name, so no messup on who gets set to focus.

I also have three other separate macros set to different keys. they are:

    Clear Target
    /cleartarget

    Clear Focus
    /clearfocus

    Target Focus
    /focus target
(this I have so incase I need to set someone else as my focus while in BGs or Instances if I'm not the tank or primary healer.)

As for the mounting, use Ugh's suggestion, it works. Make sure you reset your /follow focus once everyone's in their vehicles tho, plus the /follow focus does not work, or atleast for me, if you're in control or posession of anything. found this out while in the Death Knight starting zone. Couldn't even get it to follow my main eye/orb cause my physical bodies were back at Ebonhold. If anyone knows a work around for this please feel free to post it. However the /follow did not work here, my team still did get quest credit when I preformed actions.

Break follow to mount up on the drake is enough is my experience.

My experiences with LFG so far with boxing 4 ele shamans are getting better and better now my gear is getting somewhere. Most of the tanks have 35-45k hp, which makes healing very easy. I've had some fuckups, but if someone doesn't leave at the moment he joins they're nice people so far.

Break follow to mount up on the drake is enough is my experience.
