    Default InnerSpace & two computers?

Is it possible to run InnerSpace on two computers?
Im thinking of a setup with a main toon on 1 computer and four slaves on a second computer running InnerSpace.

I got some questions around how this would work, for instance, if the main dies will it be possible to quickly select any of the slaves as new mains? And have that new mains window maximized with the other slaves automatically assisting/following this new main?
I realize that if this is possible then ofcourse the slaves will never share monitor with the main - they will always be minimized or maximized on a separate monitor from that of the main character.

Also, will it be possible to use targeted AoE with a setup like this? (Mouse broadcasting)

There is currently two functions I would like to have that I dont have with Octopus running on two computers. One function is a leaderless setup where any slave can become a new main fast if the main toon dies. The other function is the ability to use targeted AoE.
Will it be possible to have these functions (that I know work with IS and singleboxing) on a 2 computer dual-box setup?

You'll need the same resolution on both systems for mouse broadcasting to work (iirc)

    Taken from: http://isboxer.com/index.php/guides/...iple-computers
    Configuring your firewall

ISBoxer's Multiple Computer Helper requires TCP port 10102 to be open for incoming connections on the PC or PCs that will be connected to from your main PC.
Inner Space requires TCP port 10101 (configurable per PC) to be open for incoming connections on the PC or PCs that will be connected to from your main PC.

Configuring Multiple PCs using the Multiple Computer Helper

    1. Launch Inner Space on each PC
    2. On each "other" PCs (as in, all but your main PC), you will need to enable incoming connections in Inner Space, so that the PCs can communicate
      1. Right click on the Inner Space icon in the system tray, and select Configuration
      2. In the General tab of the Configuration window, about halfway down is Uplink Networking. You will need to check the Enable incoming connections on port box, and if you like, you can also change the port number. You may need to open this port (incoming TCP) in your firewall -- there may be a pop-up from the firewall the next time Inner Space is launched.
      3. Click Apply
      4. Close and re-start Inner Space

    3. Launch ISBoxer Toolkit on each PC
    4. Right click on Computers at the top in ISBoxer, and select Start Multiple Computer Helper on each PC. This will allow other computers running ISBoxer on your local network to detect and communicate with each other.
    5. You are done interacting with your other PCs (leave them running ISBoxer with Multiple Computer Helper enabled), now focus on your main PC for the remainder of the process.
    6. Create a Computer in ISBoxer for each of your PCs. Right click on Computers at the top in ISBoxer, and select Start Multiple Computer Helper on the main PC. Right click on Computers, and under the New Computer from remote sub-menu, select a PC to create a Computer for it (see fig. 1). Do this for (not on) each of the other PCs.
    7. Create a Character Set independently for (not on) each PC, in the usual fashion. This will dictate which Characters are launched on what PC.
      1. For each Character Set, select the Computer to launch on. For the main PC, you do not need to set this option.
      2. In the Character Set to be run on the main PC, click and drag each other Character Set that will be linked to this one, into Also Launch in the bottom left.

    8. If creating Window Layouts for each PC, select the desired Computer from the drop-down box on the right side of the Regions page that says <Pre-defined Computer>. Selecting the correct computer in this page will show the proper screen configurations for that Computer.
    9. Right click on Computers and select <All Computers> in the Copy + Export all to remote Inner Space sub-menu. This step may take a moment. This will automatically copy the configuration to the other Computers and Export it to Inner Space.
    10. Export the configuration for the main PC by selecting Export all to Inner Space
    11. Re-launch Inner Space to reset its menu (you only need to do this if a new Character Set you wish to launch does not appear in the menu).
    12. Launch the Character Set on the main PC. When you do this, the other PCs should launch their Character Sets at the same time. Broadcasting now work between the linked Character Sets.

Meaning same desktop resolution (both computers running 1920x1200), and not same resolution in every window of WoW I presume?

Anyhow, allthough Im not completely sure it will work like I want to, Ill just buy the software and try it out. Its not that expensive and I like to fiddle with things like this anyway. Thanks for your reply

You can do targeted AOE with two computers and ISBoxer. I ran with this exact setup for the past few months (Main on one machine, other 4 on the second). Mouse broadcasting works fine if both are the same resolution (WoW window resolution, not Windows resolution).

IIRC InnerSpace basically tells it to click at say position 100,100 in all windows relative to the WoW window, not your desktop. So even if you have one machine with a larger monitor, as long as you run WoW in a window that is the same size as the smaller LCDs you will be fine.

Can you PiP swap from one toon to another, when you run multiple PC's?

You can only PiP swap toons that are currently running on that machine. You can use mouse broadcasting to switch to a toon on a secondary machine from your Main, but it will display in the second machine's Main window.

There is no way to migrate the WoW process from the secondary computer to the primary and have it display there. That would be an incredible feat and I don't think even Lax could pull it off

Rancar, That clarifies things, thanks alot for your reply

    5184000 pixels = 4x slaves running 1440x900 resolution
Just for comparison, it is 75% of 6912000 pixels = EyeFinity 3x 1920x1200 displays

Thats alot of pixels to toss around, would a 1Gb Radeon 4870 be enough to run this in Dalaran (with lowest gfx)? The other specs on computer will be Core i5-760, 8Gb 1600Mhz ram and SSD-drive.

I could grab a 5870 but it feels so wrong to abuse a card like that with a 5 year old game, set on its lowest gfx, with frame rate limiter at 15

I hear ya there. I have a quad core black 940 deneb with 8gb rams and no graphics card i use to run my four slaves on. I like to use two comps but setting upinnerspacer to use them is a fricking pain and the reason i tried it out is for the mouse repeater but with resolution having to be lowered to make it work wtf is the point of running it on a 1900x1200 monitor on a min machine and having to lower the res to make it work right, what a joke. I'm trying to justify buying a ssd drive and a nice new radeon 5890 to use dual monitors on the one quad core system. The game is 5 years old but when you run 5 copies of it at the same time that doesn't make it 5 years old in terms of power needed to do it. Innerspace does so much more shit compared to keyclone and automates a ton of stuff. Keyclone costed me $40 bucks for two copies with endless updates. I was kinda taken aback at the sub free innerspace charges. I only play wow maybe 5-6 months of the year on a regular basis so that would make me spend 20 bucks a year on some software. I'm still in my 14 day refund period and I probably will just ask for my money back. I wish the software was just an outright fee to purchase and be done with it.

The good news is that InnerSpace supports virtual configs. That means if one of the characters is your usual Main you can have the graphics pumped up, but running at low on the rest. That combined with a frame rate limiter lets me run with nice graphics even on my moderate Core2Duo system.
