Hi guys,
I have been multi-boxing WoW for a year or so, mostly to level characters using an already levelled character. I use 3 separate PCs and kavoom (a lightweight software keyboard and mouse switch). Kavoom maybe worth adding to the software tools list, as it is VERY robust. website is www.kavoom.biz.
Anyway I found this site by accident and my interest in WoW was piqued again.
I wanted a simple method to send keys from my main box to 3/4 other boxes.
I tried Octopus and it didn't work on my setup (probably versions of windows crap and conflicts with kavoom) I was going to perservere but thought I would try keyclone.
I was a little concerned with keyclone's licensing, requiring machine specific licenses. I tend to mix and match my PCs a lot, and didn't really want to do this, still, I did buy 1 license.
Then I noticed Hotkeynet, had a quick play and loved it. It is lightweight and just works. I ended up writing an excel spreadsheet to generate/maintain my config files BUT it worked pretty well first time
I had a weird bug with one specific key "<DIVIDE>", but Freddie responded very quickly
Having said that, it is very much Beta. I sometimes get snags on start up, but I am hopeful this will improve if more people use it (Hence this somewhat long post)
If you do not need the complexity of managing windows provided by keyclone etc, then I suggest you try Hotkeynet . It is easy to setup and easy to use
Great forum by the way.
