    My main pc's specs:
GigaByte GA-P35-DS3R, P35 (ATX, Sound, LAN, SATA II, RAID)
    Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 (S775, 2x3,00GHz, 4MB, 1333MHz FSB, Boxed
    Corsair 2GB DDR2 (2x1GB) PC6400 800Mhz CL4 (TWIN2X2048-6400C4) (bought another 2x 1g DDR ram)
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT xfx 512 mb

Get a SSD to have much faster access to data resources, and get 4GB of ram. That PC *can* 5-box, as I 5-boxed for a year on this machine:
    E6600, 4GB RAM (only WinXP 32-bit though), RAID0 2x 36GB Raptors, 8800GTX.
Now, a 5-boxing machine can be done cheap.. just upgrade that E6850 to a Q6600 (make sure your motherboard supports it though), get 8GB of RAM, get 64-bit Windows, an SSD (even a cheap $100 will be better than any HD for hosting WoW), and a newer videocard.
    Ex-WoW 5-boxer.
    Currently playing:
    Akama [Empire of Orlando]
    Zandantilus - 85 Shaman, Teebow - 85 Paladin, Kodex - 85 Rogue.

Definitely going to 4-box Diablo 3 after testing the beta for how well this would work.

What exactly is the gain in having SSD memory? I asume at least loading will be faster and i guess Dalaran will run smoother, but do you really notice a difference once you get into a BG and played for 5 min? So do you notice a difference when you're just 'playing' and not HSing to dalaran or porting somewhere?

I took the liberty of making a small shoppinglist for you based on my opinions and Silencers opinion

(The SSD is optional, its the cheapest one that still has a high read speed (writespeed is slower though))

You current motherboard is capable of using the Quadcore processor and the memory i linked according to the Gigabyte website http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/...ProductID=2543

Let me know what you think of it

You need to select the entire line and copy/paste it into a new window... the forum cuts off the link halfway (only half of it is hyperlinked)

^^^^^copy these lines and paste them together in a new tab or window (somehow the [ cuts off the link)

SCREW THAT.... Forum keeps crapping up this big link....

I know littleburst from my guild, he is an old member . Im also a multiboxer and run with 2 x spinpoint disks. I have almost no loadlag in dalaran. The pricing isnt too bad and his motherboard can also handle two disks in raid.

    http://tweakers.net/pricewatch/24409...2hj-500gb.html

    43,38 Euro per disk X 2 + 8 euro sendcosts +/- 100 Euro

I agree on the processor and on the memory. But if I would go for storage and speed I would go for the raidsetup with the spinpoints.

Why go for SSD if SATA disks in raid is an option?
