Tier 10 set ultimate for PvP shamans

In the next minor content patch we're making a change to the tier-10 elemental shaman 4-piece set bonus. In addition to lowering Lava Burst's cooldown, this bonus also no longer requires Flame Shock to be present in order for Lava Burst to be a guaranteed critical strike.

that would just be amazing, no longer flame shock, you won't need flame shock glyphe any more in arenas
for 4 pieces you need 310 frost emblems

310 emblems at 19 a week.. 4 months to complete, assuming you spend NO frost emblems on anything else and you do the daily and weekly every cooldown XD

I'd be a bit concerned about the loss of resiliance on your toons though, you would have to run with what, 600 resiliance? and your HP would be considerably lower than most players in your bracket. Could make for some amazingly well coordinated lava burst target-switching though =)

you could also go for icc 10/25 with you toons solo

#e you will loose ~400resilience and ~2k hp (~600+resi, 22k life left) , what means you haven't much time to kill something but you won't anounce your burst, especially against rogues, they are always using cloak if you flame shock them. A rogue won't survive instant crit lava burst and rocket

It'd be interesting to try out. And, as I enjoy PvP also, id probably get the gear anyway....

so I bet a good kill button would be 4 chain lightnings, then an EM LVB? or 4 LBs then the EM LVB?

And since they wont be expecting it, even if they have fought a quad shaman boxer, you can put 4 flameshocks on a dummy target, then nuke the hidden real target while they hot up the fake. FUN stuff ahead.

well, here's my 2c.

LvB crits about 50% anyway, since our crit is so high.

So, you are taking a 4pc PvE set into arenas for 2 more crits on an already very powerful spell.

Now, assuming you did, the best thing, would be to flame shock one target, and then switch to a healer or whatever who will be standing still to cast, and lightning bolt > EM LvB > Chain Lightning > Shock for the ultimate 100k dmg on a single target, which should be dead before the CL cast.

Now, this is already a strong bonus, and aside from the SP and Int and extra dmg on the PvE set, I'm not sure it's worth the extra resilience sacrifice considering more resiliance is coming next patch, making crits hit for even less than now... I dunno, that's a lot of badges and gold (considering that 300+ frost emblems are worth at least 25k) soo.. thats 125,000 gold that you could have possibly put into other endeavors other than the PvE set (if your goal is PvP only) and that kind of gold will outfit your toons with all the queldelars, 10x whatever professions you like, and pretty much anything you want until the xpansion :P

I dunno, what raid content are you doing that you need the set from emblems and can't get them from drops?

hum interesting, but i feel that the shock+lava burt isnt the real problem, its just finding the right time to use ur shock+lava+chain.. aka timing. just having the lavaburst would help. man. but the lesser gear would lower ur resil and u would get stomped before you could do anything after the first kill

you will never get half of this combo on a 2200+ healer .. they run, los and rebuff so fast.. it's unbelieveable :-)

but back to topic..
i just reswitched to my 108res trinket because the damage output of some teams is brutal.
