The mage for the CC and sheer damage output, at the expense of being a bit of a glass cannon (mitigated somewhat now we all get Ice Block).

The Shammy for the sheer utility (off-tanking, off-healing, more totems) and damage output.

The Warlock for utility (summons, soul stones, health stones, CoR on runners, etc) and pet off-tanking in a pinch.

Me? I'd go with a Shaman, but I think we're all reaching Shammy Saturation Point around here so you might want to do something different if you feel the same.

But then I'd swap the Priest and Shammy roles around too, so each to his own
shamans sure are awsome but I would go with either another mage or a lock. especially if you plan to do heroics. The idea behind a 5shaman setup is to just burn things down and be creative with kiting to clear heroics. But if you have a balanced party you should treat it just like one. So basically. If you couild form the most perfect party for heroics what would it be? Then roll it

The setup I would do would be:
paladin - tank
shaman - dps/buffs/backup healer/offtank (wouldnt work too well in heroic but an earth elemental might for dire emergencies)
priest - healer
magex2 - dps/CC
