Occulus new boosted rewards!

The first instance I got solo on my paladin today..... Occulus >.<

We ran through without issue, the sack of gems is lootable for each toon, so make sure you don't leave a toon's sack in the chest (lol). Mine had 2x www.wowhead.com/?item=Scarlet Ruby but it's probably random. I also got 2x extra www.wowhead.com/?item=emblem of triumph

I got this today on my 5 man group and went ahead and did it, missed the Make it Count timer by ~5 mins but I spent a good 10 mins on macros and stuff so should be ez next time. Did 5x amber, macros were as follows:

occulus1:
#showtooltip
/target Ley-Guard
/cast Shock Lance

occulus2:

/target Ley-Guard
/cast Temporal Rift

occulus3:

/cast Stop Time


I put occulus1 as #1 button for char 1 & 2, and as #2 button for chars 3, 4, 5. I put occulus2 as #2 button for chars 1 & 2, and as #1 button for 3,4,5. I staggered occulus3 into button 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 -- so char1 had it in 3, char2 in 4, char3 in 5, etc.

I just ran up to the last boss, hit 3 (timestop char1), and just pressed 1, 2, 1, 2, 1, 2 with a 1 sec pause in between each key. Every time timestop was over I'd move to the next one -- 4, 5, 6, 7, 3, 4, etc. Boss was down in under a minute, just run away when he phase shifts.

Got a TON of scarlet ruby and other blue gems (awesome for alchemy xmutes!), 2 extra frost badges, and a single mount in one of the bags. Definitely worth it!

its sad that they have to go to these extremes just to get people playing it... but hey, whatever you gotta do. now if only i knew people willing to farm EoE10 to get that drake...

what do you do to make it so that your button inputs are used and not the new default ui hotbar that comes up when you mount a drake?

Most action bar addons will keep your regular bar there when you're in a vehicle and just pop up an extra vehicle one somewhere else. If you are not using an addon, then you'll be getting it switched.

One thing I found about the blue drake that sucks. I got this a few days ago on one of my guys, and it's contained in the loot bag as already being soulbound to that toon (not tradeable). So to farm it for the entire team is going to take a long time and a lot of luck.

You know, I have no problems finishing Occulus when I'm playing solo. I'm trying to figure out why they are going through such extremes to get people to do it.

I mean, the vehicle idea was novel, but they should really take the hint and realize no one wants to deal with marginalizing their playstyle to play with a 3 button contraption or other.

Vehicles are a novelty, not a core mechanic. All Occulus and EoE really demonstrate is that no one likes being dumped in to these sorts of encounters.
