CE rep farming - what would be easier/faster/less boring?

So, I'm going achievement crazy and am working on Cenarion Circle/Expedition reps for 'Guardian of Cenarius' and the hippogryph mount.

Cenarion Circle is easy, I can pull 7k rep/hour just by grinding Twilight mobs in Silithus and turning in texts.

I've read that one method, farming Nesingwary ears in Tundra can earn you about 2k rep/hour with CE (crappy).

I also see that a normal Steamvault full-clear nets about 1650 rep. I wonder if I can do that faster (ie half-hour), solo, on my 80 combat rogue http://www.wowarmory.com/character-s...&n=Mousetracks

Or, another potential possibility...I could reactivate my frozen 2nd account with a 76 holy priest on it and dual-box Steamvault Heroic. Do you think an 80 combat rogue and 76 holy priest could dual-box Steamvault heroic for more rep? Rogue isn't exactly a "defensive" class...leather armour doesn't provide much protection and I remember how hard L70 heroic trash and bosses hit back in the day, don't think it'd be much better now on my 80 rogue (even tho my dps output would be WAY higher I still have to survive their hits).


What do you guys think?

Just farm heroic trash and Coilfang armaments. That should get you plenty.. Unless they nerfed the drop rate of the coilfang armaments, that should get you exalted pretty quick as they used to drop quite frequently.

You think the heroic trash is farmable by a rogue (ie a non-tank character that can only heal myself every 3 mins via the herbalism talent)?

EDIT: Just took a quick peek at the mobs on wowhead, they apparently have equal chance to drop armaments on normal AND heroic. Normal would be very low risk compared to heroic. Even though heroic they only have about 7k more hp, they hit alot harder from what I remember. They used to be able to one-shot a non-tank @70 (ie deal 9k dmg in a single hit)

at level 80 you should be ok. I've seen rogues evasion tanking worse stuff than lvl 70 elites. Just take it slow. Test out how many you can handle at once. If things go to hell you ahve plenty of ways to escape.

I'm a math geek, in addition to many other kinds of geek (C# programmer by trade, and as a programmer you have to know alot of math)

For the curious, I did the math.

Givens:
Each turn-in is worth 75 rep
I need 15k rep (200 turnins)
Each mob has a 17% chance to drop the item
The statistical math indicates it will take approximately 1176 trash kills to gather 200 armaments. Those 1176 trash kills will also give 1176 x 12 rep, or almost enough rep by themselves to get me to exalted. So I'll thus say I'll get half the rep from trash kills and half from armaments, so I need ~600 trash kills. That shouldn't take too long...

don't forget that bosses give more rep too. When i farmed that rep for my dk what i did was clear trash, skipped the lady with the 2 elemental (i think i had blue gear at the time and almost die everytime) and kill the robot boss and then head back. Don't forget to kill the slaves. It took me a couple runs but it was pretty easy.

oh yea, i think heroic gives like double rep so instead of 5 points you get 10 or maybe 15, but like you said they are harder. It might take you the same time to do 2 normals then 1 heroic.

Also the drops are funny. 2 runs i got none, the 3rd run i got 1 off every mob.

I did Steamvault normal runs, with an 80 team.
Prot Pally and 4x Shammies.

Runs were fast.
Did exalted there in two days afternoons or so.

The team had already done one run each of the lower two instances, for the quests.
Along with every quest in Hellfire and Zangarmarsh.
Not sure how much rep they had prior.
But the Steamvault runs were decent reputation.

1176 gives a ~50% probability that you will get at least 200 armaments.

You need to kill ~1400 to have a 99% probability of getting at least 200 armaments and ~750 to have a 99% probability of getting at least 100 armaments.

Close enough though.

I would try and see if you can solo the Heroic content. Like someone mentioned Evasion tanking is not unheard of. I saw a video once of a Rogue evasion tanking I believe it was Gruul I could be wrong.
