engineering? good still?

So i got some gold to spend, and well for the first time in a long time im looking at professions. im sitting around 1900 in 5's, and wondering how much help does having 450 engin. on all 4 shammies?

Ive looked up and saw that all people above 2k have this on all 4 of there shammies. Do you guys still use your pyro-rockets? and do they do much damage? or is it to much hassle during the arena to use them?

jw how you guys thought about spending around 10k? for 4, 450 engineers

Well 4 glove rockets would provide roughly 8k instant on demand dmg. I am interested tho if people feel like its worth it vs say JC or ENC. Im kind of leaning toward BS and JC myself for professions.

Outside of arenas, rocket boots alone can turn the tide of an individual match.

When someone is almost dead, the little bit extra can kill them.

If you're not close to killing someone, due to pillar humping... or they're dead easily for your gear vs theirs, its not a huge benefit.

You can macro it into your "big button", and have the use automatic, when you do the elemental mastery kill them macro.

I'm in the process of leveling teams, specifically for battleground pvp's, and both sets will have 5x Engineers.
Lots of other toys are fun.
Also look at things like the Darkmoon Card, for crit and shadow damage, etc.

I am lvling my engi now on my paladins, and I think it's going to be especially useful for melee teams, when you can't quite catch up to someone, or they aren't low enough for hammer and the extra will at least let you can get them into that hammer range.

I'm wondering if anyone has tried to use the rocket gloves and the lightning generator trinket, can they be used after eachother? Thats 16k ranged DMG.

I did engineering on all four first and then jewel crafting.

Engineering was 10-12k and jewel crafting was.. well just a lot more expensive -- around 25k for both professions on all 4.

I use the rockets with my elemental mastery / lava burst macro -- they're helpful since every team I face just pillar humps so it comes down to my druid rooting one and then I blow EM/Lava/Rockets on that one target, move to the corpse and camp it for 3 minutes until we can do it again.

There is an internal 10sec cooldown on lightning gen and rocket gloves. I use both for myself as the extra crit isnt that bad for starters. Also I think people underestimate bombs, I use them often and when you 4-5x use them it adds up when desperate.

Does it share this 10 sec CD with other DPS trinkets ? +haste , +AP, +SP on use. Or it only share CD with engineering items.

rockets share a 10 second CD with ANY "on use" clickable trinket. Anything that is on demand.

Hmm. Shouldn't it be just DPS trinkets ? Otherwise I can't use battlemaster for 10 seconds when I fire off the rockets ?
