Default Click Macros - Flame Shock on new target

    Hello folks,

Playing with click macros at the moment and have hit a snag (which i'm hoping is easily solved and i'm just being thick).

    Using:

    Code:
    /castsequence [target=focustarget] [] reset=combat flame shock,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Means that even if i change target in a fight, the flame shock is not re-applied to a new target until ive got to the end of the castsequence. No problem i thought, i changed to:

    Code:
    /castsequence [target=focustarget] [] reset=focustarget flame shock,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
This does the trick, but not quite how I wanted. If i kill my first target fast, or switch to a new target quickly after applying flame shock to the previous target it will do nothing until flame shock is off cooldown. Is there any way I can put something into the flame shock macro to reset on a new target and only cast if possible, if not cast the next in the sequence?

From what i can see through my searches it seems everyone used reset=combat, but this would mean a lot of lava bursts missing the guarenteed crit, or am i missing something?

I hope i'm making sense here, anyone got any ideas?

    Thanks a lot!

Your best bet is probably to add a manual reset in the first macro. Doing something like reset=combat/alt will allow you to use alt to reset the flame shock section of the macro, also useful for situations where you miss landing a flame shock.

Or just have a separate button for manually launching flame shock.

i tried it with reset=target but found like you did that it got stuck a lot, in the end, it was worth missing a few Lvb crits over not dpsing at all for 4-6 seconds. So i just left it with combat reset.
If your going to micro manage flame shock like that, you might think about instead micro managing swapping trinkets or something even more beneficial if your going to spend the focus.

I use reset=target for my shamans. As far as I know the fall thru spell Lightning bolt still continues to cast until FS and LvB come off cooldown. Isn't that the same as what your reset=focustarget does? Is that not what you are trying to achieve.

As far as I know reset=combat is only for when you don't want to alter your castsequence for anything while you are in combat like a pallies tanking macro. It doesn't need to deviate.

my fallthrough spell didn't work, it just got stuck on flameshock, could you try to make it fail Jubber and if it doesn't get stuck post your macro?

I use reset=combat, for Lava Burst and Chain Lightning, since these have hard recast timers.
    And reset=target, for Flame Shock.

However, with Flame Shock as the first macro, it attempts to execute first.
If you are on a comma stage, it allows for another (later) macro to fire off.
If it is on cooldown, and wants to cast, nothing else can until it fires off, hence the (up to 6) seconds of delay.
There are talents to reduce this, but that's generally more of a PvP spec.
I had the same issue putting Chaos Bolt, in front of Immolate/Conflagrate.
    EverQuest I: Bard / Enchanter / Druid / Wizard / 2x Magician.
    Diablo III: 4x Crusader & 4x Wizard.
