    Default Avatar Movie is AMAZING

I just saw Avatar in imax and omfgwtfbbq it was amazing. If you have ANY interest at all in the movie, DEFINITELY go see it in imax. It's outstanding. Exciting and in a world that is totally awesome. The cinematography and world they created was astounding. Well worth the rediculous price of $14.50 for a ticket.

Seriously, if you think you'd like it, your gonna kick yourself in the balls with steeltoed boots for not seeing it in imax.

    way cool, seriously.

ps. this movie is going to win awards and break a shitload of records. see it.

As a quick note, this movie is overtly anti-war, anti-capitalism and anti-West. Very much a leftist-dogma-driven plot with laughably overdone stereotypes of the main corporate and military personalities. (I mean, geez...the CO actually shows off his battle scars? Ell. Oh. Ell.) There's plenty of info on the plot's politics with a quick google on interviews with James Cameron.

So, if you want to just go see it for the 3D movie technology and to see a very pretty movie with superb action sequences and stunning effects, go for it. If you're dead set against political screeds or if 2 hours of "Iraq was about oil" messages turn you off, it's probably not for you. Personally, I ignored the message and just enjoyed the visuals.

    Forewarned is forearmed.

    GL and enjoy the movie!

Avatar: laughably predictable and cheesy plot, cliche themes, and worse acting: ALL IN 3D!

I didnt say the story was original, but I guess I dont care if it's the whitey leading the non-whiteys to freedom. I didnt show up to feel bad about how certain races are portrayed in film. So sorry I enjoyed it.

The only ad I've actually seen for Avatar is for the video game. It made me want to play Titan Quest. It's starting to sound like another tired messiah movie, I'm gonna pass.

If you're going into a movie like Avatar thinking "politics" ... you're wrong. And until I hear everyone bitching about politics in movies bitching about the old Lone Ranger tv shows, I'm afraid I'm just going to ignore everyone who insists on seeing messages in everything.

It's a freaking kids film with action, a fantastically beautiful world with awesome new monsters and cool sci fi action. Personally I thought it was a complete ripoff of "Battle for Terra" with some Robin Hobb's "Forest Mage" trilogy thrown in. Not to mention, a bit of World of Warcraft.

You can make the same complaint about "political overtones" in every science fiction movie. Alien and Aliens ring a bell to anyone? How about damn near every book ever written? Don't you people read?

The OP merely said he loved the movie, it was visually splendid. If you want to discuss the political overtones of the thing, start a new thread.

Myself I give it 4 out of 5 stars. My 14 yr old daughter and 9 yr old son thought it was "Awesome". My wife was blown away by it.

If you can't enjoy the movie because it's too "political"....the problem is you. Get over your bad self and lighten up. Christ.
