Need some help picking a honeymoon destination.

I have to agree with Ellay, cruises are nice because all of that is taken care of.

Even if you don't like it I would still suggest it.
Also, if you go on a cruise to a colder part of the world, their tends to be more people probably your age, and less teens.

I'm 18, and I've been on a cruise both to Alaska (Past Summer) and Mexico (2 years ago). The cruise to Mexico had a club for teens, and there were actually many people my age. The cruise to Alaska was, for me, boring because I could not find anyone my age to hang out with.

But if you are against cruises, I would say Hawaii. Beautiful in my opinion, plus it has beaches, and its WARM! Hot really.

Plus you can learn2surf.

Oh ya, another thing about cruises they are insanely affordable for any type of person.

those types of resorts are all inclusive. no worries about meals or lodgings. of course, you pay for it.

Alcsaar, Just a little FYI...I'm 22. So I dont think I'd find that many people my age on a cruise to somewhere cold.

I have been looking at the Virgin Islands, they seem nice, but I am starting to contemplate a cruise, seems like a bit more to do...especially if it hits a few ports.

As far as Caneel Bay...travel channel had it at #9 best resort in the caribbean. Just didnt see anything about all inclusive.

Costa Rica is a lovely place... I spent time on the pacific coast then did some traveling. San Jose is a lovely city (no military so that part of the budget goes on amenities).

It shouldn't be that much of a pain to get to either from the US.

Alternatively you might try Belize.. I was posted there for 6 months... you have the mountains, jungle and forests for activities but also the reef for beaches and relaxing. San Pedro was awesome too... just don't spend time in Belize City, it is a dump and the mainland coast is pretty crap.

I would go back to both places in a snap.

[Edit] Belize is an english speaking country BTW... can be an advantage if you don't speak spanish.

I've been to Cabo and Cancun. Definately liked Cancun better... it has some of the nicest beaches. I'm not a big fan of the Pacific-side of Mexico or Central America. The beaches aren't quite as nice and the water is a little rougher. Cabo is a little less resort like and little more city-like. There are some great resorts, however, a few miles out of town. Cabo was fun, but I'd choose another spot.

I really loved Cancun. It has amazing white sand beaches, and there are a lot of things to do in and out of the water. It's probably the most modern of the resort towns in Mexico. Definitely stay in the hotel zone on the beach strip south of downtown. There are shuttles that run up and down the several mile stretch and cost next to nothing. You can also take taxis. These hotels have huge lots and nicer beaches without people trying to sell you stuff. If you can afford it, I'd go with the Oasis hotel in Cancun.



Maui would be another one I'd really recommend, in the Kaanapali part (northwestern). Staying in the U.S. has it's perks. Don't need a passport, don't need to exchange any money. You won't have any problems with language barriers (although in most tourist places, everyone speaks english anyway). Only thing with Hawaii is that you really need to rent a car. Other places you won't need that.

I've always wanted to go to Nassau, Bahamas also. I think you can fly to Florida and take a boat out there, which might be cheaper than flying. From what I've heard, anything inside the hotels is very very overpriced, though.

What is your budget? Are you looking to stay in an all-inclusive? Do you want a really nice hotel, or stay in a nice place on the cheap? How long are you going for? Do you like the fully developed resort towns, or the more rustic and secluded places?

I just got married in September and we went to Hawaii for 2 weeks. We visited 3 separate islands (Kuaui, Big Island, Maui) and it was amazing. There is a ton to see and you can either do it on tours, or on your own. There are all sorts of activities to do, and the beaches are amazing.

The Cook Islands is good too for a honeymoon. Might be a bit pricy and long flights though. Rarotonga, Vanuata, Tahiti, Fiji, Samoa if a tropical island getaway is your thing.

And if you really want to go overboard and you have too much money you can splash out on an overwater bure which basically means you live on top of the water with a see-through floor.
