Default boosting 45 to 60 with prot paladin

Been busy lately with boosting my alt teams with my 80 prot paladin before my raf runs out (ABCDE linked). In the cathedral wing of the monastery it's taking a bit longer. I do 1 or 2 pulls, need 3 rounds of consecration and i have the non runners down, afterwards i chase the chickens to melee them down. 1 round takes around 8 minutes. But it's getting tougher and tougher with just consecrate (to melee a mob down i use my normal tank macro with seal of light/blessing of sanctuary/devotion aura and sacred shield up). It's not that i run in trouble or so, its just that the fights taking longer and longer.

Now i intended to go to hell fire ramparts at 55, but guess that will be really long fights and hard to consecrate the mobs down. So i was thinking to bring in a shaman to have better aoe (first B later C to catch up with B). This would of cause that i have to do more runs than intended to boost all guys to 60. Do you think this is a good solution or will it decrease the xp too much since 2 lvl 80s are in the group?

Or how do most other people boost there?

I did both Scarlet Monastery and Zul'Farrak from 35 to 45, and found SM to be quicker overall.
ZF is a change of pace, and almost as quick.

From 45 to 55, I'd recommend Stratholme, the entrance with the locked gate.
Although a lot seem to like Scholomance too.

    At 55, hit Ramparts.

You could try two 80's in the group if you want.
But its more of an issue of only boosting 3 toons at once.
You'll kill faster, and get less for the kills, which evens out.
But then you have one less toon leveling.

If you get sick of a zone, for any level bracket.
You can run the lowbies through quests for their level.
Which will be fast with an 80 killing things.
    And are still excellent exp's.
But boosting in instances will be faster.

I always did SM to 45 then Straltholme to 60. Stralthome is great exp for those levels.

I never liked Ramps that much, but two big pulls in Underbog with an 80 pally, 80 resto shammy, and just 3 level-ees worked well. Then that same set up from 65-68 or more in UK worked well for me after underbog.

Another option is BRD from 40 to 45 to mix it up. I only recommend this if you already have the BRD key though. Since you're ABCDE linked, easy to take pally to BRD and then summon the rest, else I'd say just stay at SM too. I avoid ZF like the plage as for me it's not even 1/2 as fast as SM, I just suck at ZF.
45-55 I'm definitely a Strat Guy, but at 55 I head to ramparts.

    Just FYI.
    Clear Bael'Gar wing of BRD
    - Enter BRD,
    - go left, through locked door,
    - go straight till "T". (leave your group about 15 yards before T intersection)
    - Clear a bit to right, to the door
    - Turn around and clear straight to Bael'Gar.

    Thanks for replies,

Yeah i did/do a BRD / stratholm mix. Changing places is a nice break away from the monotome fighting with multiple teams. But my main question was actually if large pulls in hellfire ramparts work, and if a 2nd toonsis required?

On a sidenote, would the old 10/25 instances be an option to do with 1 prot pala 3 shaman (80 all) and 1 toon i boost? More as a chance to see classic content and for fun than for effectiveness.

I did Ramparts, in four or five pulls, nothing crazy.
Killed all three bosses and reset the instance.
Ignored loot, aside from the bosses.

At the time, my pally had a mix of heroic 200 iLV and 213/226 BoE gear, and the blue crafted leggings.
    Nothing special for gear either.

I did 55 to 60, for three teams of four, in an afternoon.

I've done a solo pull in ramparts to test (could've done that before posting actually ) and i must say it's surprisingly easy. Paladin was never in trouble. I'm gonna loot the mobs off to get my guys some gear anyway, so might as well do normal pulls.

My pally has about the same gear, but the repair costs start to get really high after a couple of runs. But it's worth it

I took mine to 60 in stratholme, it's a little slower past 58 but I think faster than the travel time to ramparts, plus that instance just kinda sucks. Endless knockbacks and a hell of a lot less mobs than in Ramparts. Just doesn't seem worth it

Agreed. I did Ramps for about four hours and found out that it sucked. My pulls were far smaller than I wanted them to be without an 80 healer and it was slow going. My pally was in mainly level 219 epics then too. Knockbacks, MSing Devastaors (if I recall correctly) - just not fun.

Underbog was a much better time investment for me, even with adding in an 80 resto shaman to heal and throw down magma totems.

Switching to Outland, from the old world, is a massive experience per hour boost.

I didn't do the massive pulls in Ramps, that I was doing in SM/Strat, but the experience was still good.
My pally is sort of geared, an assortment of iLV 200-245 stuff, mostly badges or BoE's.
I did Ramps in 4-5 pulls.
But did two sets of toons from 55th to 60th, in an afternoon.

Have not tried Underbog with 55th toons.
But I far prefer Ramparts to Strath/Scholo for 55+, its way faster.
