Gearing up at 80

So I dinged 80 on my 5 shamans after a played time of 8 days and about 4 hours Gotta love the XP from AV at 70-80 to help break up the collection quests in Northrend. Helped that Littleburst from Grim-Batol was in a lot of the AVs with me.

Anywhoo....so I've dinged 80 and the plan is to solo heroics with 4 of the shamans and my geared pally tank....however I think I would be better getting them some decent gear before I do that. Currently I've been getting guild groups to do randoms either taking 2 or three of the shamans depending on the group composition. The first thing I've managed to buy was the 35 badge caster shield. I was thinking that when I've managed to get 2 tier pieces on at least three of the shamans (one healer and 2 dps) then that would be a good time to try to start soloing.


Does anyone else do it differently?

Also, are there any specific instances you suggest using to practice 5 boxing?

Did you get any pvp gear from the 70-80 in AV.

When my shaman got to 80 I had about 2 pieces of PVP epic gear,
with my okay geared tank this was enough to allow me to start doing heroics.

Speed things up even more by buying the reventant treads and the other revenant item. I found them going for not a lot of gold on the AH.

Wintergrasp marks to get a belt upgrade. PVP gear isn't ideal for heroics, but it's better than greens and blues.

I managed to get the 213 PvP shoulders on all of them...and gloves on one of them. That one done a solo WG collection quest, so that's all it would take to get the gloves on the others. I'll have a look in the AH for the revenant stuff.
