My characters do not recognize one another, even after being added. I've looked for an answer but there are none. The only person labeled as "online" is the master. The only person on the master's "bars" for showing team members is himself. So no health watch minus the regular party screen.

Everyone accepts and turns in quests though... so i have no idea what is wrong.

Make sure they are all on the same chat channel. It is one of the first options. Set up the channel name and password and push it to the slaves. You will need to log off and on for it to take.
