    Default 1 enhancement shaman + 4 rets

I`m playing with the idea about this setup. I really like my ret team but grinding for good 2handers is a bitch. Besides that I don`t like to play a DK at all and 5 rets isn`t working to well in pvp due the kiting so I`m thinking to try this setup.

Anyone tryed it? Guess the shaman quite a bit easier to nuke down then the DK but he also brings some nice buffs to the party. Just the bloodlust on my 4 rets would be great. Besides that he can slow, hexx, shock and so on. Maybe gem him with loads and loads of stamina to make him more durable lol.

I`m trying it anyway but I`m just wondering if anyone tryed it before. For me it`s great because this way I have my resto shaman + prot tank who are geared in the team as well and 2hander farming becomes a LOT easier.

Does it solve your kiting problem? I guess slow will work. The DK deathgrip seems to get rid of the kiting issue. I played 5 rets and switched to 4 rets + DK because of this very issue.

I tried this setup actually. Enhance shaman works fine. Not better than DK but should be on par. You gain the following things with shaman.

    1. Bloodlust (nothing to say here, hands down the best buff in game)
    2. Earthbind (pulse will remove all snare for your party, quite nice to have) or tremor totem (works ok vs fear, not as good as before)
    3. Frost shock root (this is ok. Not as good as Death grip, but should works the same as Chain of Ice)
    4. Purge (quite nice to have, no more BOP problem)
    5. Instant hex (another nice CC)
    6. 1 grounding totem.
    7. Disease cleanse totem.

You lose Death Grip, Hungering Cold, Anti Magic Zone. Anti Magic shell. Range slience (strangulate). Also you lose the str+agi buff due to not able to use strength totem. You need earthbind or tremor.

Both enhance shaman and DK do shitty burst. They do ok damage overall, but the burst is quite low.
Don't under estimate the survial for enhance shaman. Use shamanstic rage (-30% dmg) + wolf, You are not going down that easily. Looking at this list. Shaman looks winner. But in reality, Death Grip is just too good. Often times, people dispel my frost shock root and run away. It takes me a while to catch them. So my hope is to get them in Earthbind Range when shocking them, that way he won't get far. Looking at it this way, shaman = DK for the least.

So all in all, Enhance as leader is definitely workable.

Well from what I`ve learned from the DK ret group is that the main does not really need a big burst, just offer controll over a fight.

I also heard stories, yet to try myself, that you can still use 2handers efficiently on a shaman for a nice burst. I`m atleast trying this setup, will cost me some gear farming but it might be worth it.

Hmm 2hander for shaman. Don't you lose Lava Lash (http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=60103) from using a 2h ? Minus one instant spell for the shaman is huge. I don't think the windfury proc on the 2h can make up for that.

I have a DK + 4 Rets too. Even with Death Grip, kiting is still a problem for me if I am not careful on when to use it. If I death grip a frost mage first, following a hammer of justice stun. He blinks. Then he is gone. Range nova. Then he will start casting. I dispel and freedom myself. But he has gained so much distance on me where it takes time for me to catch up.

With enhancement shaman leading, you will have the same problem. But you have Frost shock root (only if he is 15 yards away). And it is on 6 second CD vs Death Grip 35 seconds. Not to mention that you can purge him too when trying to catch up to him.
