This is what I do very often. Stop take a long break to shower, make some food (not at the same time, like Kramer) and maybe even toss in a movie to get back in the mood. Come back refreshed and ready to tackle the next objective.

Oculus was the very first randon heroic I got. The first boss was too easy (and I suck at heroics). Then I spent two hours trying to do the rest of the damn instance.

So, anytime I get Oculus now, I just kill the first boss get the emblems, then zone out.

I can deal with everthing else. You know the newer dungeons (FoS/PoS/HoR) have a "gear check" requirement to queue up in the random dungeon finder right? So Blizzard thinks your team should be able to complete it.

(I see PoS being an exception to this, because the Forgemaster boss is a complete cock-block)

I found something interesting today. I was able to beat the Forgemaster on my first try. After a bad pull in which I pulled all the adds as well as Forgemaster, i ran my team down the steps and down the path that i had just cleared thinking it would reset the encounter. It didnt reset the encounter, but it did increase the distance he had to run to get me after his visits to his forge. This extra time couple with frost resistance and spamming a lot of chain heals allowed me to down him the first try.

I will expermiment a little more by parking my toons far away, and using bubble on the long pull. Anyhow, just thought I would share what worked for me.

I got AN 4 out of 5 times last night... then Oculus came up... I logged out.

The ez mode on Garfrost in PoS is to equip two of the three Nax frost resist pieces on your team, and drop a frost totem (except the tank which I don't bother with resist gear). He's kinda easy when your not having to heal all the time. When he runs to the forges I run behind a block to chain heal and clear the stacks. That said I have been killing him everyday and have yet to see the ilvl232 spell power dagger drop. I also have spent hours in PoS and FoS clearing trash and have yet to see a hilt, I have seen 3 random epics but no hilt. Makes me wonder if the hilt is just in the random drop list and I am just unlucky. It would be nice if it was seperate from the random drop list... oh well.

i've cleared POS and FoS roughly 5 times each, never seen a hilt. Had about 5 random epic drops.

I know how you feel. I haven't tried HoR yet with my team but I tried FoS and failed horribly on the 2nd boss and gave up after 5 times. Frustrating, I think with enough luck I could get it but we're talking hours of trying and running back and ugh.

Doing the new instances on my tank however is fun. There's some real noobs out there in the pugs but also some shockingly skilled and uber geared people too and if you're tanking you have a lot of control over how the run goes (generally smoothly). I've used my 5 man team a lot less since the new lfg tool. The huge incentive (for me) with boxing aside to see if I could do it was the instant group factor. Now I can get that at 1/5 the price heh. I'm not sure if I'm going to renew my additional subscriptions.

once it's given me them back to back I usually quit playing for the day and go do something else like watch TV.

Ya I have my teams parked outside of the ICC 5mans. I queue up for the daily and if it sucks I just run regular PoS or FoS and then queue again. If I need to repair I hearth 3 to Dalaran and repair then summon them back and do the same for the last 2. Pretty nifty if you dont care about being in Dalaran all the time.

edit: make sure you kill the first boss in the heroic so you get saved, otherwise I seem to get the same heroic again, although it may just be coincidence.

The "adds" on Forgemaster are part of the event. You'll get them everytime.

Its basically a "group strat check". If you're group is retarded and doesn't let the tank get aggro, it'll probably be a wipe.
