Default New to Multiboxing - Hello!

    Hello!

I am new, and I would like to first extend my thanks to all that contributed in this forum. I found this accidentially a month-ish ago and was fascinated by multiboxing.

I was a long time player of WoW since its launch five years ago. Started November 23, 2004 and took a long break exactly two years ago (My baby arrived and she will be two, tomorrow)!

I have no problem with chemistry, but I have an extreme adverse mental learning block with anything that is computer!

I browsed and read the forum, and this is what I am planning to play 5-man PVE/PVP content.
I am doing a linking in the format of A (old account) -> B -> C -> D -> E through RAF. In account A, I have 3 BC 70s, Pally, Locky and a Priest, gears are blues/green from quests. I also have purchased ISBoxer using Innerspace. I found Ualaa's guide extremely useful, although I haven't setup this yet. (Psst, I hope you like the free time Ualaa! I hope I did it correctly)!

I also find this new Battle.net extremely confusing! I see my old account through Blizzard's Battlenet, but still don't know how to log onto the other four RAF's accounts.

My account name in this forum is my daughter's name: Sarai Emmanuelle.

Again, Hello and will be seeking help, since I am such a Noob!

Welcome to the boards and enjoy your stay. If you have any questions i would suggest asking Ualaa as he's been VERY helpful to myself in the past few weeks.

Congrats on your baby =D and hope you are successful in your journey.

    Congratulations on your daughter.

You can put each account on their own Battle.Net email.
Or you can have up to 8 accounts on the same Battle.Net email.

You can RAF either way, it makes no difference.

The advantage of an email for each, is simultaneous log-ins, even with an authenticator.
The disadvantage is, account bound items could become B.Net bound in the future; Blizz has hinted at things like this.

Either way, I'd recommend an authenticator for your accounts too, they're $6.50 each, and secure your accounts.

Since you are five boxing and using Inner Space, each of your character sets will likely have five toons.

When you go through the wizard, it will ask for a character set name.
Clicking on the character set, in the top pane, opens the characters in the left pane.
You'll see Slot 1, character name, then Slot 2 etc.
If you click on the 1 in Slot 1, or the 2 in Slot 2 etc.
It will show the battle.net log in email here.
This will be the same for each account, if you go with one battle.net email.
Or each will have their own email, if you go with one battle.net per account.

Either way, I'd recommend creating virtual configuration files.
This is covered, in the initial portion (wizard section) of my guide.

Virtual configuration files allow you to have different options on each character.
It will also remember the last option you selected, on a per character basis.
So if you go with a single B.Net email for all the accounts, each character in the set will automatically remember the correct account from the drop-down box.
Basically, get into the game once with a set, and it will remember the choices you made.

Wrath of the Lich King, is a whole expansion of new content to explore.
And Cataclysm has been announced, although its not even into beta yet, but it is coming too.
Lots of fun things to try.
    EverQuest I: Bard / Enchanter / Druid / Wizard / 2x Magician.
    Diablo III: 4x Crusader & 4x Wizard.

Definitely get an authenticator. With battle.net, things seem to have gotten slightly easier for hackers due to the email link to your account.

I put all my accounts under a single battle.net. No real advantage, but I only need 1 authenticator. You simply go to the battle.net user config (or whatever it's called) and there is a command to add your non-battlenet wow accounts to the battle.net account.

Also, it's probably best to make sure you setup everything with ISBoxer before you even get your slave accounts going. This is simply due to the virtual configuration files etc. I don't use ISBoxer currently, but might switch in the future.

Thanks all! I will get the authenticator!

Burning question: How do you use the interact with target (IWT) function to have all slaves interact with a NPC to open up the quest box? I read and created keybind "\" on all my slaves, but when i target the NPC with main, press the "\" key, nothing happens on my slaves' window (I don't see the quest box open).
I must be missing some crucial steps somewhere? Does hitting the IWT \ on my main broadcast to the slaves using ISBOXER or do i have to set it up first?

Thanks in advance for the help!

You need to assist on the main first so that everyone has the quest NPC as a target before using IWT. I don't use ISBoxer so can't help you with that but if you do a search on ISBoxer and IWT I am sure you will find a lot of info (look for Ualaa's posts).

Hmmm, I checked the Key Maps (General, FTL Assist Me) and the key combo is (Alt +Backspace).

On the main, i target the npc, then, Alt + Backspace (for assist main), then spam the IWT keybind (\) and it still doesnt work.

    Any ideas?

UPDATE: On my setup, one word: FRUSTRATION!

I give up! This week, I have the whole week off, and I thought I could have this setup and have a go at this, but I failed.

Somehow, nothing works now, even the basic key for "other jump" doesnt even work! What did I do wrong?
