Default Rant - tradeskill items are priced too low...

I realize this may sound a bit odd, especially considering that on my current server, moss agates sell for like 15g, but if there's one thing which annoys me more than high prices, it's low supply. List them for 25g for all I care, as long as I can buy 20+ of them. Copper ore at 20g per stack? Fine by me, as long as I can buy more than 2 stacks per hour.

I really wish Blizzard would implement a buyer-auction house (sort of an reversed auction house) where you could list what you are willing to buy. For instance, create a listing of 20 stacks of copper ore for 20g per stack. You'd pay the money in advance, in this case 400g, and have the money refunded if noone wanted to sell after the "auction" expired (like 48 hours or so).

I think they had a system like this in Lineage 2, it worked really well!

Hmm, that's a really good idea.

yeah no kidding. This would be a great idea. Beats the trouble of me having to sit an AH toon waiting for mats for proffs or anything like that or farming it myself. Just post what I am looking for and people can sell it to me when they want if my price is right for them.

Spam trade chat with what you want and what you are willing to pay, asking people to CoD it to you.

Wait. That makes too much sense. My bad....

This is an excellent idea. Lately I was told to farm AH for mats. I have found that there is little difference in time between farming the AH and doing the actual farming. While some mats are easy to get in AH others are just easy to farm. I recently got all my gathering skills current because I couldn't get the quanity of mats I needed. So obviously the prices are not reflecting supply and demand. We have people doing dailies for tons of gold and buying all the mats creating a vacuum in the AH. So when new mats go up, people just use the auctioneer average to sell their mats. When I see 'no data' for a mat, I price it for 300% or more of high price. Guess what? It sells!

    a) That would mean you have to be online and in a town with /2. 95% of my playtime is not in those zones

    b) Good luck making a chat message that says: "WTB

    • 100 Copper Bar
    • 20 Tigerseye or 20 Malachite
    • 120 Bronze Bar = 60 Copper Bar, 60 Tin Bar
    • 60 Shadowgem OR 20 Shadowgem and 20 Small Lustrous Pearl
    • 80 Heavy Stone
    • 30 Moss Agate
    • 140 Mithril Bar
    • 80 Solid Stone
    • 25 Citrine
    • 15 Truesilver Bar
    • 5 Aquamarine
    • 50 Thorium Bar
    • 10 Star Ruby
    • 20 Large Opal
    • 10 Powerful Mojo or 10 Blue Sapphire
    • 10 Essence of Earth or 10 Essence of Undeath
    • 20 Huge Emerald
    • 55 green gems OR 40 and 15 Black Diamond -
    • 40 Adamantite Powder (200 Adamantite Ore)
    • 10 Primal Earth
    • 10 Adamantite Bar
    • 70 from any of the following gems: Bloodstone, Chalcedony, Dark Jade, Huge Citrine, Shadow Crystal, Sun Crystal. Make sure to buy at least 5 Bloodstone, 3 Chalcedony, 3 Shadow Crystal and 3 Dark Jade, because you will need the Bloodstones when you reach 395 and the other gems when you reach 440.
    • 46 Eternal Earth OR 23 Eternal Earth and 23 Eternal Shadow
    • 7 Forest Emerald - You might only need 5.
    • around 28 Skyflare Diamond OR 28 Earthsiege Diamond"

    c) There's a appr. 1-hour delay on mail sent to you, making it harder to keep track of what's left to buy

    d) People are reluctant to send mails CoD because it can take up to 3 days (if I remember correctly) before the mail is returned if recipient doesn't accept

City of heroes also had this in their AH. It was awesome. You could put up bids for items and if someone put the item up for sale the person with the highest bid would get it as long as it at least met the price the seller was willing to sell for.

This was great for sellers because you instantly get the highest price for stuff that someone is willing to pay. Great for buyers because you can put up a low bid and just wait until someone is willing to part with it for that price.
