Note that the macros-xxxx.txt files exist in two places:

--> \WoW\WTF\Account\<youraccountname>\ == global macros
--> \WoW\WTF\Account\<youraccountname>\<server>\<chara ctername>\ == character-specific macros

Copying the text files over does indeed duplicate the macros exactly.
