    Default Graphics clocks vs VRAM

i've bought a new graphics card to replace my old 3870x2. (on route), running 5 setup and my ATI card is getting old.

ive chosen the Nvidia GTX275 1792 super overclocked for value and performance. and mostly because of the double memory.

choosing a card with huge memory should help running 5+ clients correct? there's 5850+'s with huge power but lack of memory but what's your opinion? We are running lots of applications on a software rig i would imagine its a memory war mostly.

    clocks vs video memory

anyone talk from experience? (multiboxing ofc, single games is no good to me.

Core clock will affect your graphics performance primarily up until the point at which you push the limits of your graphics memory. The number of pixels you are pushing will probably be the main factor in dictating if you have enough memory. In general terms I would take the 5850 over the GTX 275 any day, but if you are utilising more than 1 x 2560 x 1600 monitor or equivalent then the extra memory might bring the GTX back on top.

ok cool, too late to cancel its been shipped already dang. nvm it should perform very well ive been looking at the benchmarks the super overclock give sin comparison to 285.295 and 5850. and for value and performance the 275 soc seems to be par or just below and the difference in cost is quite big.

i believe ive made a good choice, will find out i can always return it and say it was opend when i received it

get paid tomorrow so i could feel naughty and buy a 5870+ hmm!
