Thread: Sap macro

    Default Sap macro

Is it possible to make a sap macro? leveled 2 rogues to lvl 10 and just got sap on them, so tried to make a macro that sap on focus on 2nd slave, probably using the normal "target nearest" sap macro on main char (or on both against rogues maybe, and focus+IWT sap for other classes).

    /target [target=focus]
    /cast [target=focus, exist, nodead] Sap

Would the macro be generally, target so IWT moves to the one its gonna sap not the one that is gonna be dpsed, and then sap it.
It works when im lucky and auto attack from IWT doesnt hit the sap target, but that rarely happens...
Tried putting /stopattack but in the macro but it still gives same result.

Is it not possible to sap unless i position the char behind / side of the opponent by myself?

You can sap from any angle.

I know i can sap from any angle, but have to position one character beforehand its not smart to put it infront so they can see it, you cant see stealth from behind or sides so therefor best to position it behind or sides.

That isnt the problem, IWT puts auto attack (and its not possible to stop that auto attack with macro i think) so using IWT for sapping results in slave hits the opponent just when it sap it, so no sap and leaving stealth.

Only solution i found is the one i said, position behind or side so they dont spot me and then sap.

    What i want to happen:
i position myself for attacking a target (or sapping one if its 3 or more enemies), slave use IWT to sap a target (so it can even sap moving targets or players who turn around), and then i attack whoever i want and have blind ready for those i sapped.

    Problem:
IWT makes slave hit the sapped target so it cant actually sap with it, so can only sap by moving slave manuelly. (probably works but kinda slow and hard or impossible if more than 1 of 2 sap targets move / turn)

You are correct, you need to toggle / remove IWT (and perhaps attack on assist if you ave that issue as well). Likely you just want sap/cleartarget/followfocus is the macro you really want.

If you can sap with the main you can sap with the slave if your speced for longer range. Much like a sheep/hex without focus, by targeting manually and attacking without assist.

i just have one screen besides the main that saps. Some silly 'all sap' is just a screen shot / lolz thing. Or for stealing flags in AV in spectacular fashion.

Thank you for reply, but dont really know what you mean.

Is it impossible to do with IWT?

You gave me a idea of using /cleartarget, now sap always work but even though slave got no target it still want to hit once, the attack comes just before sap so it doesnt break it but it does break stealth.

Only 2 ways to sap if its not possible that i can think of is to move manually or sap with follow on main char but should be rare that 2 players are in sap range and looking another direction.

How do you sap with your rogues when you sap 2 or more?

"Likely you just want sap/cleartarget/followfocus is the macro you really want."
cleartarget wont help for me unless it can prevent IWT attack i think.
followfocus is probably for 3+ boxers where you have to switch your main char i think, if it is that you probably mean i should follow main once i sapped.
Guess its for manually moving the rogue to sap then get back on follow to be ready to burst.

At work so haven't tried this...
what happens if you trigger IWT and then call a macro to clear target?
Doesn't AutoAttack fail if you don't have a target?

    In that case:
    Macro:
    /cleartarget
    /cast [@focus] Sap

    Try that.

Tried before, it hit once even though it got no target.
Tried /cleartarget, /stopattack, but IWT attacks atleast once on both.
