Finder for fun and profit in 3.3

After a couple of days of using the new Finder with just my 80 Mage, I decided it was time to break out my old tri-box Shaman team and see if I could get any heroics done by letting the Finder assign us a tank and healer.

So far I'm about 10-0 on heroics (including my first multibox attempt on Occulus), and I had never even attempted any heroics at all before on this team. Receiving only mild skepticism from the tank and healer, but that disappears pretty fast after a couple of pulls.

The new Fire Nova is simply wonderful; burning adds like on the first boss of Gundrak, pretty much any part of CoS, and the Brann event in HoS has proved to be its greatest strength. Being able to pop it out of Magma for even more AoE and the Elemental for boss burndowns have also been fun.

And now, having done this with mostly the weak lvl 78 blue PvP gear, I now have my first piece of T9.

Yea, its pretty neat. Im working away from home so I just play my paladin by himself. Hitting the random heroic over the weekend ive gone from 22k unbuffed health to 33k self buffed. I still have a lot of upgrades to go too from emblems so im pretty jazzed.

Are Heroics really that easy now adays? (I haven't played since BC - Season 2)

I remember some of them being hard as hell (Shattered Halls Multiboxing, for example).

Yup.
I carried a freshly hit 80 pally tank though a bunch of heroics...and he was wearing 60% blue/green tank gear....the rest was ret gear.

I remember when I hit 70 with my holy pally and tried healing heroics with mostly blue 70 healing gear........it was a train wreck.

My friend(fresh 80 pally tank from previous post), was kicked out a group he joined with the random finder. Not only was he kicked out....but he kept the debuff to wait another 15 min before he enters another random que.

I can see why blizz requires everyone to take on the debuff.........but If you random que up for an instance and get put in a pre-made group who decides that you are not good enough before you even pull the first trash mobs, then somehow there should be an exception to the debuff rule.

Getting kicked from a group I believe takes 4 votes.

Also, saying that the heroics are easy isn't exactly true. I'm milking the system just a bit. My 3 Shaman are only flirting with 2k dps each currently. What is making it happen is the fact that every tank and healer I'm getting matched up with are overgeared for heroics. The tanks have 35k or more HP, and the healers are roughly 20k/20k hp/mp.

I've only had minor comments regarding my (lack of) DPS, and they amounted to things like...

"This is going a little slower than normal, but I'm amused that it's working at all"

"At least you're not wiping us. I've run other randoms with better DPS who kept getting us killed."

And the one last night from a very geared Tree, talking to our Prot Pally tank with 35k hp unbuffed...

"No, you're the damn scrub. How the hell you managed to get the gear you have, and STILL not be able to hold aggro off of Shamans doing 2k dps or me I'll never know. Shamans, just keep doing what you're doing."

Wish I had taken a screenshot of that entire conversation after we finished UP. That Tree was hella impressed with what 3 sets of totems could do on their own.

The dungeons from ToC and onwards, on normal are about as hard as all the previous stuff on heroic.

Unlike BC, Wrath instances on heroic are not nearly as hard.
Definitely easy mode by comparison.

Even out of the gate fresh @ 80 i was doing heroics with people in Blood Legion a few days after launch...they really were not difficult then and will never truly be difficult ever again based on how the game has matured. Heroics in BC were much harder especially when people in BC first started doing them. There is NO comparison like Ualaa said.

I look forward to doing this(the whole gearing up through heroics thing) again though, the instances are a blast.
