Default Having accounts deleted and merged

I just got off the phone with a nice blizzard rep. Just in case anyone didn't know or wanted to know, he quickly merged two battlenet accounts I had so that all my wow accounts were on a single battlenet account, AND he was able to delete 3 wow accounts off of my battlenet account that I no longer wanted and were just cluttering up my battlenet account.

I was worried I was going to be stuck with these extra accounts cluttering up my main bnet account but he did it all in about 5 minutes with no problems.

Good to know! I didn't understand the b.net process when I merged, so I made 6 junk email accounts on yahoo, one for each account. It would be so much nicer to have all the accounts under the email that I actually use.....

Is the limit still 8 per account? Or can they combine more than that into one account on the back end?

Far as I know limit is still 8. Worth asking when/if anyone calls.

Did you have to create a new battle.net account with these old accounts? Or did they get sent out into oblivion? what if you were to want one of these back at some point?

limit is still 8, apparently its not on the cards to expand this number, i also asked and i never got a reason why the cap is 8 accounts when i called up the other day.

If I had the choice, I would do this now since they changed the way you can use the authenticator to log in. Used to be that you could log multiple accounts under one b.net login with the same pass and key at once. Now you can't use the same key like this anymore. I read here a while back that someone else has their account spread across multiple b.net accounts, but can still log in using one authenticator key and the same pass at once instead of waiting for a new key to generate. If this is true, then this would cut down on login time and would come in handy if you disconnect from the server during play. If this is all still true, and someone does this, please let me know. And if anyone else calls the support line, ask them if it'd be possible to take four+ accounts from one b.net and spread them across new b.net accounts if we wanted to set them up that way.

I had them sent off into oblivion. Maybe I should have xfered them onto my second bnet account but they were junk $5 accounts from black friday and I just wanted them gone. Signed up for them but forgot to do RAF so they were just vanilla wow accounts with no real use to me. Maybe I'll wish I had saved them in the future but at most, it will cost me $20 to add another account if I end up wanting or needing it.

As for now I've got 5 accounts for 5 boxing and I never plan to expand beyond 5. Who knows. Sometimes plans change.

yeah I have 8 accounts in my battle.net account. my 5 wrath accounts + 1 BC account and 2 Vanilla accounts, I'd like to free up the non wrath accounts, but I'm not sure I wouldn't ever use them again.

Yeah, I had a moment during the delete where I thought "But what if things change and I wish I still had them....."

But now that I log in with a single bnet account and there aren't any un-used account in my account list I'm pretty happy with it. If they'd been BC or Wrath upgraded, that would have been a whole different story, but vanilla wow accounts are small cookies to replace. Especially when they have nothing on them at all.
