Default Silent Keyboard - Recommendation Needed

I'm looking for a keyboard that won't wake my wife up. Comps in the bedroom, she works an earlier shift now.

I did buy one that said "Silent" on it, structured beneath the key pads the way a Laptop keyboard is, but the damn thing is nearly as loud as my regular "Logitech Wireless KB/Mouse Combo" Keyboard, just a slightly different pitch of *thunk* (More like a *Tink* now).

I'm picturing something with sturdier plastic pads, a longer stem to prevent lateral movement, and some rubber or other non-degradable cushioning.

Any suggestions? I ask because I don't wish to be duped by advertising again. Advice based on experience is better

You are looking at this wrong you do not need a quieter keyboard you need to plug your wife's ears.

I used to have a rollout keyboard. You literally rolled it up and stuck it in a pocket in your laptop bag. It was church mouse quiet, but I don't know if they still make something like that.

There's a thread on silentpcreview.com about quiet keyboards:

    Hey Freddie,

Nice second link haha. I researched the IBM Lenova keyboard the first thread was talking about to find it is exactly the same Keyboard I'm typing on right now while at work I think I'll continue my search The rollout ones have always piqued my interest, but I'd have to try one before buying it, as they require quite a firm push.

    Cheers!

Funny coincidence. This thread made me curious so I googled around. I'm surprised how little info there is about this on the web.

Even silentpcreview.com doesn't seem to have anything about it, and I think they are pretty much the main place on the web for silent pcs.

The rollout keyboards are very quiet. I use one for my laptop also like Coltimar. Mine is a cheap one from Bed Bath and Beyond. It actually doesn't need much pressure at all. Only thing is after you've beel playing with a G15/G11 for so long you miss all the extra buttons. lol.

I will second this. I just picked one up a week ago. For $50 it works out really well (at least on my hackintosh)
