Boxing 2v2 vs 3v3 as full melee

Hoping to reach 1800 in 5s before S7 ends (want to upgrade my lvl213 weps) but when que times are bad for 5s i'd like to work on 2s or 3s as a backup option. I tried a few games of 3v3 as 1dk + 2 ret, seems pretty good....great vs PMR with the double cleansers but epic fail against hunter + elemental shaman + healer

haven't tried 2v2 yet but im wondering if 2v2 wouldn't be easier as dk+ret? Back in S5 I did some 2v2 solo boxing my DK parterned with a ret and it was rediculus, our strat was "I dont know, just do stuff" and we hit 2k fairly easily. We werent even on voice chat. Though that was S5 when DKs were a bit rediculus...still, im going to try it out for sure (need something to do during poor que times on 5s), just wondering if anyone else has yet?

Another thought is double prot pallies for 2s, having both being able to cleanse is amazing...though im not sure if it would be worth sacrificing the dk

You could do any double dps in 2s to 1800. I dont think mage is possible boxing wise, but that is just from my own experience.

The shaman cleansing totem is an absolute killer to DK DPS, you'll always have trouble vs. a good shaman whether he's healing or DPSing. Now that you can't use macros in arenas to automatically sick your pet on specific totems it's way worse especially for multiboxers who will have probably a harder time knocking them down without screwing up their group targeting/positioning.

But having 3 DPS vs a single healer compared to having 4 vs. 2 healers in 5's is a nice ratio and works well in 3's. In 2's you'll probably get destroyed unless you perfect your healer lock down rotation between your DK and pally. 3's will be easier and more fun, multiboxers should abe able to have some good success there.

3v3 mages @ level 70 was hard to do arena with, but fun? Hell yeah
