Default 2 piece Tier 8 to 4 piece T9 in less than a week.

So it only took me 5 days, and a bunch of badges later, my 4 slaves all have 4pc T9.

The DPS improvement from gear alone is pretty crazy. (Short fights ftw, But not for the lock)

I still have a few more pieces I want to snag before I start buying up PvP Gear, but with the patch being nearly a week old, I'm very happy with my progress.

unfortuently the 10 lvb dot was a nerf to what the 4 peice originally was. Before the patch i was able to crit for 13-14k easy, now 10k is average and a 12k is "HOLY HELL HIGH CRIT." Makes me mad they nerfed my dps (didn't gain anything great since i was already 5/5 t9 before patch)

Congrats Svpernova on your gear upgrades. I still have yet to complete my druids gear by multiple peices so you're going through this amazingly fast.

Short fights he's always low, I blame the CoE going up, then immolate, confiag, then incinerate sequence. I think he's got more haste now I need to take him to the dummies and redo the click macro timing I think. He's topping out at 4-5k on longer fights though.

Are you using click macros? Do you have them tuned to your spam rate? Take each toon to the target dummy and go nuts with your DPS macros and make sure that Flame Shock isn't falling off, LvB is firing every CD. This will minimize the time your stuck in LB spam. Also make sure your glyphed for LvB not consuming FS. That recount you see in guild chat was just that 1 fight, a very short 30 second fight. That has to do with how much DPS shaman can do, since our DPS is all burst and then once we hit LB spam, it starts to drop to level out over time, shorter time = higher DPS. Thats also why you see my lock so low there, my lock's rotation is rather slow but more consistent over longer times.

Here's some numbers you can look at to see actual raid DPS data. Last night I took Svperwrecked (often my top DPS shaman) to ToC 10. I used my same DPS macro I use when boxing the only difference is I was raid buffed. (Kings, Wisdom, Flask of Frost Wyrm, SP Food buff, Int, etc)

I managed 4.4k DPS over the entire fight of 5 minutes 34 seconds. The LJ fight also involves target swapping, and movement, so I wasn't just a turrent blowing up a boss.

I pulled 6.3k DPS because this IS a stationary (mostly) blow up the boss fight. Also one of the boss' mechanics is a DPS boost if your able to collect orbs.

DPS is highly situational. You can go look at those reports in depth and see how often I was casting which spells, and what they were landing and criting for. The biggest thing in your DPS is RNG. Random numbers are always going to be random. The best thing you can do is stack spell power / haste once your at your hit rating goal (~80 for heroics, 342 for alliance raids)

Note that 3.3 changed this so that LvB will never consume FS, and the glyph was changed to allow the FS DoT to now crit.

Still gearing my 3 elemental shamans, but I'm hoping to eventually reach your DPS numbers. Up to 3 pieces of T9, but the rest of my gear is ilvl 200 or less.
