Make sure you're using the new FRAPS 3. I've found that it has improved my performance when recording.

And in addition to recording at 30 fps, you can also choose to record at half or full frame size. Half is great for performance, and is what I did before version 3. But now, while 5-boxing on my Windows 7 64-bit system, I can record my main window @ 1920x1140, 30fps, full-frame. But be warned, that level of detail costs me 4GB of hard drive space every 1.5 minutes

My laptop has an extra hdd slot. If I buy this hdd: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136459 would I be able to run Fraps or alternate recording program while running my 4 accounts on 4gigs of ram? The rest of my laptop specs are in the link in my sig. Question tho, about how much ram does Fraps use up on average settings? Or atleast at what you guys/gals use?
