Account Temporarily Suspended

So I made a pretty big mistake tonight. I was on my bank alt and some of my Guildies wanted to do the weekly raid on their alts. So I took my four shamans along as my main had already done it on Patch Night.

What I forgot about was that my Bank Alt also had a macro sitting in a slot that I use on my Shamans. So while I'm facerolling Anub on 4 screens - I'm unknowingly spamming the hell out of Trade Chat on my other screen.

One of my Guildies logged in and let me know what was happening - I switched back and I was banned from sending mail or talking pending review of a GM. My iPhone buzzed and I had e-mail - by account was suspended for 1 hour and my password reset just incase this was not me performing the spam.

I lodged a ticket to let them know I'd had a keyboard issue and I was deeply sorry for any trouble I had caused and let them know I had moved the macro to a blank spot.

Just thought I'd kill some time in my free 1 hour from my main account and post here about it. Not quite being banned for multiboxing but close enough haha.

Never got banned for things like that since I have no chat macros at all BUT I do the same thing regularly with my alts standing in dalaran jumping, buffing, using their hearthstones and stuff like that while my main is raiding. Bad idea.

Reminds me of that old call of duty / snickers commercial where they are all sitting with their headsets on getting ready to go and one guy is jumping up and down, spinning around and tosses a grenade at himself because hes looking out the window at a girl by the pool.

I did this with a casino alt once.. back when it was legal to advertise
spammed the hell out of trade, yell, and /say while I was boxing a BG. fortunately I caught it fast enough

Reminds me when I was working on some click macro`s for my rets. I was wondering why the skills din`t work and I was spamming the hell out of it. Turns out they were in the wrong bar and I was spamming a guild recruitement macro a LOT.

"Looking for mining contracts. I will buy all the Saronite Ore and Eternals you can COD to me. PST for more information."

About 900 times in tradechat while my Shamans where DPS'ing Anub'Arak.

Suffice to say I havn't picked up any new contracts lately. Might need to rebuild my bankalt.

All sorted out now, no permanent record on my account and a GM got back to me but it took a few days. Imagine some massive backlog on petitions.

Glad it made a few people laugh, my Guildies ceritanly enjoyed it.
