Thread: Melee FUN!

    Default Melee FUN!

So i haven't done the "interact with target" since it was brought up so i thought i'de level 4 warrios and a shammy for windfury again, they were like level 10 from a while back, so i got them to 19 and went pvping and i did it a little different...

I had the shammy specced for healing (as much as you can at level 19) and am using him as my "main" and i would target something and hit charge macro and they charge in loke normal and i would just stand back and heal from a distance so they didn't die, if something got on me i would run to them and they would smoke it pretty fast.

This is kinda backwards as i'm controlling them from a distance and just /assist /interact with target and they are on to the next kill.

It really worked so well i was thinking of leveling them up a little, but do you guys see this a viable way to control them at level 80ish

I mean it worked great in big groups in WSG when everyone met in the middle cause all the targets were there, but i dunno.

    Thoughts?

Let them hate, as long as they fear.

it could work. I cant say definitively, as you've got a lot further with your melee team than i have with my lowbie rogues (Tried setting up RAF accounts but blizzard wouldn't let them be activated for some unknown reason)..

So long as you can get them all on target - which interact with target does nicely - I think the healer driving could work.

Some nice macroing where warriors intervene (is this available in all specs?) or charge the melee that's on you i think it could be possible.

Keep us posted on how it works out - i'd quite like to try doing the same with a druid healer (which would be even more mobile than the shaman, and can stealth to0).

I have tried this as well, it seems to work fairly well. For anyone who has not tried, it could be best described as having a bunch of melee class pets. With enough work and practice almost certain it could be viable. "runners are a pain though"

Well, my hunter really wanted a Feral Bear as a pet.

A shaman is a fairly decent healer, in that you wear mail armor and carry a shield.
    That's a lot of defense.
You'll eventually have Earth Shield on yourself.

Your chain heal, will hit whoever is hurt the most (the one you target) and then automatically just to the most injured.
The only issue in BG's, is if you are spread away from the other toons.
But for PvE, this will work quite well.

You'd pick classes with good melee synergy.
You have Windfury for melee haste, Strength of Earth totem for Str/Agi.
Water and Fire are your totems, probably Mana Spring if you go Earth Shield or Healing Stream when you go Water Shield. And Flametongue totem is probably the best fire totem for anything.

Riptide is your only instant cast while moving.
But if you plant yourself in place, and have a lot of high dps melee..
Not many will want to come to you.
With decent Res and Health, bladestorm won't take you down a whole lot.
And a resto is a very good pvp healer.

Only problem is you will have to pick one as tank when you do instances... and warriors arent too hot in the click dept. Pally tank is mucho easier.
