    Default DE question for RFC

I tried RFC last night with my lv 12 5-box setup and it was not too pretty yet. So I will spend the next 1-2 levels questing and grinding so RFC will be much easier.

My question is regarding disenchanting RFC drops. I am training enchanting on 4 of my characters and tailoring on 3 of them. It should be a good money maker as I level.

What enchanting skill do I need to DE the drops from:

    RFC ??
    WC ??
    SM ??

level 0 for RFC. for WC 25. for SM 25-50

In the time you spend levleing in RFC so you can do WC if you DE all the green drops and stuff you dont need you will have easily hit both limits when you need them and have plenty of mats to actually level enchanting when DE skillups start to slow down (at around 50 I actually leveled enchanting with the mats I had)
My enchanting is now 175 and I have not had to buy a single enchanting mat (except for the silver/gold rods) thus far and have lots still left. I have been lvling 99% inside instances since RFC.

Any particular reason you're taking enchanting on all of them? One is enough to drop all BoE/BoP drops, the additional enchanters would just be de'ing quest rewards. Wouldn't it be better to pick up a variety of professions?

I just started up my 5x team a week ago and I was considering the same thing. Then I realized how time consuming the repeated disenchanting/enchanting of items over and over again was going to be. ie you can't just queue up 10 minor stam to bracer enchants and go work on another character. Also consider the only pay-off from having multiple characters enchanting skilled would be the ability to disenchant your soul-bound stuff -- it's probably not worth it -- but maybe I'm just lazy.

But back to your question, I averaged at least 10-12 "disenchantable" drops per rfc run. I'm only level 24 but I've got bags full of low level mats already and I've only run rfc and wc about 5x each. So yeah, I think it's possible to get enough mats for 4 characters to skill up in RFC.

As a side note, I'm finding the whole profession thing to be a huge time sink. Combine that with inventory management across all 5 characters, I probably spend 20-30% of my game time swapping/crafting/banking/mailing/selling/etc.

ring enchants are enchanter only. but Id proly take JC for those bonuses instead

so ench/LW on one and JC/LW on the rest

The only BoP items for JC are the purple gem patterns via raiding, and the green/blue trinkets (which are learned from pattern drops).

All of the other JC rings/gemcuts/items are BoE.

no there is a set of 8 or so patterns that create an epic BOP unique -on-equip gem from a regular blue gem. ie, enchanter only. such as this http://www.wowhead.com/?item=33131 or this http://www.wowhead.com/?item=33134 they are spread around on rep vendors like consortium, lower city, keepers of time, etc.

Was gonna go DE for money but your right, one is enuf. Here is what I am planning on now for the professions:

    Paly (main): Mining / JC
    Shammy 1: Skinning/Tailor
    Shammy 2: Enchant / Tailor
    Shammy 3: Tailor / LW
Shammy 4: Tailor / XXXXXXX (idead needed)

the tailoring will let me make money easily in higher levels and the enchating as well. The LW on one char will let me make (decent) equipment for all shammy but that will be replaced by heroic stuff eventually.

then I can also do my own enchantments and my own jewels.

    Things missing: Herb, Alchemy, Blacksmithing

those things are nice, but herb and mining cannot be done at same time and would just take more time to level.

actually the netherstrike 3 piece set from dragonscale leatherworking (which is BOP) will last you well past kara.

As for tradeskills the main purpose that I will be using tradeskills for on my 5box team is not for money its for gear and boosts to my characters themselves. Leveling a collection profession would be very annoying to do on an alt. My source of money will come from enchanting and mainly DE'ing. Unless you have some of the rare patterns (which are epic world drops) there is not much you can do with any of the professions for profit unless you farm your own mats.

so are you leveling LW on each of your Shammy alts?

Hmm I guess I will need to skip most instances and sit and farm loads of leather ops:

But if it is equal or better than Kara gear, it is probably worth it.
