using my dk,tree, 3x BMHunters im finding PoS is not too bad, the wolves do a lot of uninterrupted damage and i can constantly run the team around while healing and dpsing, quite well suited to these kinds of encounters. My team is only in 50% epics but I almost downed ick on heroic 1st attempt,, had him to about 100k and was just starting on the kill shots, but got caught in a nova.

Warlocks are good for this kind of thing too. I downed Ick and Krick for the first time on heroic last night, with lots of DoTs and three felguards bashing on them while the party ran from mines and toxic novas. My poor demons died twice, but an insta-rez did the trick. I've also noticed the felguards over in the corner kicking ass on Garfrost while the party hides behind saronite boulders. Pet classes are awesome.

I downed him my first try on normal difficulty.. paladin / 4x shaman team. I just kept my shammies in a group while my paladin tanks, then use a key to strafe the whole shammy group 5 yards to the side if they get the poison puddle. Arcane barrage, just take the tank to the group, /follow, and keep running in an 'S' pattern until he's about to stop.. park shammies and go back to tanking. As soon as he begins to cast persuit, get your tank back to your group and /follow.. run until persuit is done. Park shammies and tank.. although this is usually when he novas. Luckily, I chain heal topped off right after the persuit and threw down totems (nature resist included), because I was hit with the poison on all 5 characters. The shammies all dropped from ~13.5k hp to ~2.5k, but a quick chain heal got everyone back up quick. The tank went from around 25k hp to 14k, so not a big deal. If I wasn't topped on the shammies, things would have gotten ugly quick! The best advice would probably be to keep running from him AFTER the persuit is over until he stops to cast poison nova.. then you can get safely away to start dps'ing.

The trick to this fight is nature resist, move when you need to move, and burn him down when you can do that too. I threw in a few extra flame shocks while running around when I could, but I'm sure it wouldn't have been a problem to take him down without them.

So on this guy on heroic what do you guys do when he persues a party member? I was doing him last night and 3 out of 4 times he persued my healer which was instant death for the healer. I Did Blessing of Protection the first time but it has a 2 min cooldown and so not much good if he target healer a second time.
This is what is giving me the most issues

    Think about the timing.

Persuit doesn't last too long, plus you have a good 2 seconds of "casting" before the persuit begins. If you keep your healer/ranged DPS far from Ick & tank, you'll have plenty of distance and warning to start running before he gets near you.

So the fight tends to go:
    Nature resist! Totem/food/whatever.

    - Healer/Ranged dps at max range (35 yard or so), while rushing in with tank.
    - Tank/DPS burn as fast as possible to open, with occasional 5y strafe with healer/ranged dps to stay out of poison.
    - Arcane barrage - run tank to healer/ranged dps while hitting /follow.. run in a wide circle around him to avoid explosions. Watch the cast timer, and just when it's about to end, park ranged dps & healer.
    - Pull with tank away from group to roughly 35 yards, DPS/burn quick.
    - Persuit casting bar will appear.. run with tank to group on /follow.. get as far from Ick as possible without leaving his area. (Don't want him to reset!) You shouldn't have to run away for too long after the time it takes for him to get near you.
    - Once he stops persuit, keep running with everyone on follow while throwing instant attacks/casts on him if possible.
    - He'll soon cast poison nova, so if you're still running, you'll be far from him when it goes off. If you're worried about it being close, quickly drop nature resist totems!
    - Park ranged/healer, use tank to pull him 35 yards from group.

    Repeat steps above as needed.

Thanks so much for the advice , I am running 2 warlocks, 1 mage, pally tank and resto druid, so no totems
But the advice seems good, I have tried running from persuit but was not 100% sure I could avoid and so go killed each time. Now I will make more of an effort in running away . Also I need to move my DBM bars to a more visible place because I did not see this cast bar on his timers and so was running blind

BoP the first pursuit, then run from the second. Do it the same way you do for arcane bombs thing by following the tank but go in a big circle instead. If you're dpsing at range then you have enough time to get a lead on him so that he doesn't catch anyone. I tend to drop a PW:S and prayer of mending on the target anyway though. If you can deal with the bombs, you can deal with pursuit.

One thing I did to really enhance my setup is stopped using jamba exclusively for my follow needs.

/jamba-follow strobeonme all is great when time isn't of the essence, but when you absolutely positively have to get the hell out of a green puddle, poison nova, etc... it's too slow (you tell master, master tells BLIZZARD, blizzard tells your guys, etc...)

An alternative is to pass through your follow key to a direct macro on each client, doing this has really changed how successful I am at movement based fights.

In IS this is absurdly easy...

    setup a wow macro action, /follow {ftl}

    Thats it... .

So on the above macro it follows whichever toon is the current window? Or always the group leader? (for me that is always my tank)
I am still having issues with this fight on heroic so I may try this tip , also at the start of the fight, is it worth spreading my toons out in a line or just have them bunched together?

Honestly I just pretty much make it a tank and spank now. Although I am running 3 DPS and 1 Resto Shaman its easy. I just put totems down including Nature Resist, and just spam DPS into him with the resto just casting chain heal non stop. Only time I move now is for the arcane bombs and thats it. Encounter only lasts 45 seconds now
