    Default How's your economy?

I spent the little free time I've had this week logging in to check the AH, and watch prices. Here's what's happening on my server:

No real change in saronite, or titanium. Prices are up a little, and twice someone tried to buy out and control the market - I sold into the second, made a quick grand.

Can't see any real change in Eternal prices, which is where I thought the action would be.

Flasks are up, and sell FAST. I sold out my small supply. Not a huge profit, but okay.

Crusader Orbs are plummeting. Last night the spot price was $300 in Trade, about the same on the AH. Lots of armor that requires them are listed for *twice* what they cost before the patch, looks like desperate last minute profiteering, before the unwashed masses know how cheap they are to make now.

Recipes and patterns from Ulduar and TOC are dropping, slowly. I expect this to continue as ICC gear helps people clear both faster and farm it more. My spot price for Merlin's Robe is 2k - I'm 400 from that as of right now. The actual robe is listing right now for 6-8k. I'm watching the bejeweled wizard's bracers, too, I have 4 casters that could use them. I'm also watching tank gear - titanium razorplate among others, and saronite swordbreakers, my pally would love those.

Enchants looks the same, honestly. Mats are holding steady, but as more shards are gotten, the prices will drop. Someone is trying to corner the market on dream shards, but does not look like he's selling any. I think someone may have blown a LOT of gold.

Hilts are all the rage, I've seen prices in the 2-6k range.

Two people are buying the Portable Hole 24 slot bag in Shattrath for 3k, and listing them on the AH for 5 or 6k. Havent seen them sell, they are taking a serious gamble someone will be dumb enough to buy.

Not a whole lot of new gear, none of the new patterns, and one Elementium Bar for 1700, lol - havent ever seen one on the AH. (If you don't know, they're for the Thunderfury)

Gems are seeing some action, raw epic gems have gone from 150 average to 250 - I'm listing mine tonight, to sell into the big weekend of everyone running ICC. Cuts the same.

All in all, not as much action as I thought. I think people are too busy running ICC to start really effecting things, we'll see how next week goes.

Rubies are up about 50g a pop and enchant scrolls are moving decently for once.

Greater cosmic essences are WAY up on my server. I bought them at 16g pre-3.3 and I've sold most of them for 39g each.

Raw gem prices are the same (I suspect they'll start to rise once the current stocks have been bought and next pvp season hits), and some have actually lowered in price, so I'm holding out for now.

A curious thing though, is that the cut gem prices have gone up quite a bit - which indicates a rising demand (first the cut gems go up in price, after that the raw gems), so I'm not sure whether to cut them myself and sell or just wait and sell the raw gems. I think holding out until next season is good either way. People with capped honor are going to need a ton of gems to gem out their new relentless/wrathful pieces.

Dream shards are also up. Bought at 15, selling at 25.

Hilt prices are insane - I sold mine (2) for 3k each and now they're going for like 8k a pop.

Titansteel bars have gone down in price (I bought at 160, prices are currently down to 130), fortunately I only have 11. Might go up once the new tradeskill items start to be more common, so I'm holding out on those also.

Infinite dust is the same, but there are a lot fewer listings on AH than there used to be, normally 12-14 pages, now 6-7, which could indicate rising demand, so I'm holding out here also.

Frost lotus is the same and potion prices are up a bit (frost wyrm sells for 33-35 atm, I bought in for 25). Mojo flasks sell for the same (bought in for 23). I'm going to start selling potions today, and hold out on the frost lotus for now.

Saronite prices have actually gone down (bought in for 2.4g, selling for less than 2g atm), I'm thinking about transmuting them to titanium and just getting rid of them.

Maybe this doesn`t work on you server but when I was boosting my teams I looted everything in ramparts. Greens usually DE into 3 lesser essences. Make a bigger one of it and it sells for 20-30 (depending on AH whores). Nice profit profit from one green.

I'm just asking, because there was a thread about profit taking from the patch, and I wanted to see how it played out. Even sites like Wow.com and MMOChampion were discussing it, and it's not the gold making opportunity we thought it was.

I'm making some good money today, not much compared to the pros, but enough that I'm glad I stockpiled some things.

And you are right, in that BC enchants and mats still sell - Infinite Dust sells as much as Arcane dust. I took out Moroes in Kara a few weeks ago and got the Mongoose enchant, which sells steadily on my server for 250 gold on a scroll - so I'm going to go farm some instances and start selling them, there's only one or two people on my server who do. Crusader still seems to sell, too.

The bummer is I sold off 4 stacks of Large Prismatic Shards a while ago, for a nice profit, now I need to farm more up. I think I'll get my Druid attuned for the option boss in Sekketh, and farm the mount while I'm farming mats.

I really think it's too early to conclude anything, we're forgetting that the new PvP season hasn't started yet

I made 11,000g yesterday and it wasn't even a raid night. My server has a very VERY low Horde pop plus its Oceanic so it only really has one primetime vs my old server which was active round the clock.

Pretty much epic gems are where its at for me. Arena Matches/Stone Keeper Shards/Wintergrasp each week and Conquest badges here and there I had about 20 of everything stockpiled.

Saronite hasn't changed much at all but Titanium has dropped heaps. I'm still making a HUGE profit on it though thanks to X-Mute procs.

Just checked my auditor again and I actually made 17k. I am pretty much off-loading every Abyss Crystal, Dream Shard, Greater Cosmic and a few stacks of Infinite Dust whenever I get them.

Eternal Belt buckles are still very profitable and I'm making my way through the few hundred I had ready made.

Glyphs supply a steady supply of trickle sales. I'm just finishing off both of my tailors so I should start pumping out some Cloth X-Mutes soon enough.

Need to finish 2x Alchemy and Skinning/Leatherworking and all my professions are done ready for Cataclysm.

I`m struggling to keep myself alive and pay for the new teams I leveled. I really should level me professions I guess.

I think a bunch of people barely got auctioneer back up and running (me incl.) so I don't think the prices last week are very indicative of the market - this coming week should show some trend

I'm particularly watching the Crusader Orbs as I'm making 8 pieces of armor (2 each for 4 toons)... they've dropped from 1K each down to 200g... I bought 7 from a guy for 110g each which is about the spot I figure they'll settle into.

So far this week I've sold 3 nobles decks for 5K each despite the masses screaming that they aren't worth it... and I've cleared about 6K on glyphs. It's been a good week!
