    Default need help with TOC

I made 80 and got some decent gear. I'm trying to learn TOC Regular but im having trouble with the very first mount fight.
Just remember what ol' Jack Burton does when the earth quakes, and the poison arrows fall from the sky, and the pillars of Heaven shake. Yeah, Jack Burton just looks that big ol' storm right square in the eye and he says, "Give me your best shot, pal. I can take it"

This thread, also youtube 'jousting Toc'.

Not that i'm good at it myself, it's just where i found the info.

Basically, don't try to do it like you would as a single player.

It works best if you pile up your guys and don't move.

Not sure, but I think you need to be decently geared even for normal. I made it through the mounted stuff after some trial and error, but once I had to fight the 3 people I was decimated.

When I run ToC with my girlfriend's hunter subbing for a warlock, I have to keep reminding her, "please bring them back here, I can't move." She plays like a single player, charging and jumping around and dragging aggro all over the place, while I -- all four of me -- stay put until I absolutely have to shift. If you're boxing this, you have to play it in a specific way, or it doesn't work so well.

Am I the only one who looks forward to taking down the last champion with a Charge just because, at that point, it's actually practical?

The champions, once dismounted, are pretty tough cookies. This is kind of like the jump in difficulty between basic BC and Magister's Terrace -- you have to be in the ballpark of running WotLK heroics before you can expect to survive regular ToC.

But you're JackBurton. Shouldn't you be able to do things no one else can do?

The YouTube vids lay it out pretty well - after running it solo, MBing it looks easier - my pug was running all over the place during the jousting, it looked so inefficient!

I got normal on farm now. Just the jousting at the start that is annoying, the rest I clear very easily. I got through the jousting only once without losing anyone. Easy epics make up for the deaths.

I get destroyed in the jousting on heroic though /sigh, more practice I suppose.

Same here, regular is a faceroll on the jousting, but HC is a wipe.
Got as far as 2 guys down, and one with full hp on the mount, only 2 of my guys were alive

Is only the HP and damage of the mobs higher, or is there something else different?

Ok, I managed to get through heroic champ jousting, 1x pally left standing, rez up and this is how things went:

    Champs - rofl
Paletress - Flawless (although a little hectic at times getting everyone healed)
Black Knight phase 1 - rofl

    *EARMUFFS*

    WTF PHASE 2 AAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

About 1.5K in repairs later the Black Knight is dead. Things I wish I knew before I started the fight:

    1. CLEANSE / DISPEL THE SHIT OFF THE TANK
Seriously those diseases will ruin your day.

Plague Strike - Inflicts 120% weapon damage and leaves a disease dealing 1,755 to 1,845 (Heroic: 3,510 to 3,690) Shadow damage every 2 sec for 12 seconds.
Icy Touch - Inflicts 2,975 to 3,075 (Heroic: 4,875 to 5,125) Frost damage and applies a Frost Fever disease, dealing 1,950 to 2,050 (Heroic: 3,413 to 3,587 ) Frost damage every 3 seconds and reducing attack and cast speed by 25%. Lasts 15 seconds.

(All ezmode auto cleansing shaman please be kind and stfu)

    2. WHEN A GHOUL EXPLODES THE OTHER BASTARDS RESET THEIR AGGRO
Consecration, Hammer of the Righteous, Ghoul starts exlopding KABAM!!! 5+ Ghouls humping my healer, corpse run.
I kid you not, this is the behaviour I observed in lots and lots and lots of attempts where I attempted many many many different strategies.

This is how I beat the Black Knight:
    Dispelled shit off the tank.
Corpse humped the Black Knight with my entire team in the phase 1 -> 2 transition.
    Consecration.
Tap tap tap the Black Knight till most Ghouls accounted for.
Arcane Explosion + Holy Nova + Exploding Trap + Seed of Corruption + Hellfire SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM
    Cackle hysterically at dead ghouls.
    Dispel shit off the tank.
    Kill the SoB.
Kill the SoB again while spamming AoE heal.

    Cry myself to sleep.
