Anyone using the emblem system to grab pvp starter gear now? With the ability to run heroics to hearts end now and BG honor grind kinda mundane sometimes. It seems that if your team is capable of doing 5 mans that using the emblems grabing furious starter pvp gear skipping deadly completely or even saving for S8 seems much easier and less time consuming. Season 8 will be upon us rather quickly and relentless will replace furious while deadly drops off.

So my question is....would it be better/faster for a new team to run heroics saving up emblems for the start of season 8?

PVP gear buyable from emblems does not shift when arena seasons change, triumph emblems buy S6/furious today and will also buy it in S8. Emblems of frost will buy S7/relentless and S8/wrathful gear will be from arena points only

If your team can farm heroics, its (in my experience) way, way faster to buy it with emblems vs farming honor. Save the honor for accessories, also the fact that your getting the S6 set vs S5 now is win

Yes, I am gearing the rogues in full furious with badge runs. It's craaaaaaaaazzzy fast if you use the random heroic system. 5-7 badges per run.

Also, they might not have relentless available for badges right away, or for a while. I am buying furious with badges only, and spending honor / arena pts on whatever relentless gear i can snag.

BTW, I didn't realize how f'n overpowered mage/rogue was in 2v2. Best mage on the server and I teamed up on my shitty rogue. He is boosting me to 1800 on them, and then I am boosting him to 2200 in 5s later :P (yes I'm that confident). So in full blues... 16.8k health, lol@2100 attackpower... after 1 night of playing we now have a 2k MMR rating lol. This comp is insane for skilled people to play... huge skill cap on both classes and it shows. Just hilarious that a rogue in blues will be eligible for 1800 weapons lolol.

You might want to try double rogue, I am sure you could box that to 1800 by yourself.

There aren't many good 5s people around anymore. I've had the top 5v5 spot on our server for 2 seasons lol.

Ya once I get over the initial gear hump I plan on starting out every season with 2x rogue 2v2... or maybe 3x rogue 3v3 to grind weapons in 1 night. Then play 5s for the remainder :P So many good possibilities... just gotta get that first set of gear!

Did they change it so that you can get 1800 weapons from 2's?

Also it would take approximately...15 hours of 3 heroics per hour to get fully pvp geared. (not including boots/wrists/rings etc)

1800s yes. shoulders and 2200s, no.

Definitely Horde side, on my BG at least, it's probably around twice as fast to do emblems than honor for the 5 set pieces. No question

I am running 2 teams with my roommate and his 2 tank characters.

team 1: his pally tank /2x rogue/2x relentless shaman(1resto)
team 2: his DK tank /2x rogue/2x relentless shaman(1resto)

All my toons get massive badges and my rogues get PVE + pvp gear at the same time. With my 3500 healing insane geared shaman, healing is a joke. DPS is a lil slow.. but we are blowing through every heroic so no worries.
