Okay, so this is probably my first post ever, but I had to share this stupid luck tidbit...

I cleared all the way to Bronjahm with no difficulty and watched a quick youtube vid on how to down him. After watching the video, I wasn't quite sure what the plan was, but I thought I'd give him a try. I basically just tanked and spanked him (tanked with a feral druid, dpsed with fire mage, affliction lock, and shadow priest, and healed with pali), burning him down without any real strategy other than healing when necessary. When he went into the final phase of the souls flying around, I would hit my follow button when someone was feared into the AoE damage area to bring them back, all while dps'ing. It worked like a charm with no deaths. If you run a team like mine, it might just work.

The stupid luck part was, I had set it to Heroic by accident before I zoned in. So, when Bronjahm fell and I looted him I was like "WTF?! Epix?!!"... I wish things happened that way all the time.

I didnt know how the mirror soul ability worked. I thought the damage the mirror soul guy took was high but I just heal through it. Ill try stopping dps next time and see if its easier for me. Just being quick at healing and quick at moving from the puddles is all you need for that fight. 4 times ive killed it now and I havent ever moved away from the wailing souls debuff either, I must have just been lucky with that one or possibly just dps it down too fast.

I stack my guys on top of one another then dps till first mirror soul, then heroism and all out dps, strafing the guys out of the puddle. I do have 3 healing stream totems up, 2 of them tick for around 260 the other for 450ish also shadow resist aura.

On the first day I killed it I did wipe about 5 times first but after that I farmed up 2 pieces of t9 and some new totems for my team and the next day onwards Ive one shot it each time. The only other new heroic boss that I have downed though is the first one in halls of reflection and that was very close with just my tank alive and 1 dps alive at the end. I will be working on Pit of Saron tommorow, going by the normal mode though and a few attempts on garfrost in heroic it looks like its not gonna be easy.

I used the random heroic system today to farm for the T9 sets, I already had about 20 emblems of triumph on my guys each, so i needed a few heroics to buy the first parts of the set.
I started the first random and i got Utgarde keep. Cleared it pretty quickly as I have it on farm.
The 2nd heroic was Forge of Souls ( ohboy ) , my plan was too sit out the 15 mins and change the heroic after the timer had run out. After 15 mins I managed to get to the first boss. I decided to give it a shot.

My tactic was to tank and spank him all the way. The first minutes I barely scratched him as he kept healing himself to full. I couldn't interrupt his channelled soul-spell, so I chainhealed trough it. ( I have a hotkey that targets each shaman and chainheals the group ). I was well oom when he got to 30% and did his soulwhirlwind thingy.
Thunderstorm + mana tide totem got me trough the fight.
I interact to keep any feared ones on the boss. Tremor totem made sure they didn't run very far.
All and all this is quite an intensive fight as i didn't know u can stop him from healing apparently

I followed many of the intructions on various websites, and put together a simple way of doing this guy on HEROIC.

I run a group of 1 pally, 3 dps range, and a priest.

    P1
I had my priest spam group heal and circle of healing in phase1, the ae he does will always hit you, so positioning isnt curcial at start, and you will need to heal through it. I placed my guys 10 yards from my tank, and when the orb pops, kite the boss around to keep it from attaching and healing the boss. Dps the orb down, and get back on the boss.

P2. Make sure no orb is up, or you'll go into p2 with him 240k more hp, and most likely wipe.

Stack up in middle as he casts his spell into phase 2, and drop a fear ward on the tank. safe zone is dead center of the room. He will fear random members(individual fear), to the outside of the room, where an ae is constantly bursting dps out. move back in center, and dps him down.

It's quite simple if you have enough dps and a good ae healer.

    Hope that helps.

The key to this fight is having the dps to burn that soul fragment down in time.
I usually don't move my tank at all just have all other toons including the healer to get that thing vaporized.

I don't even drop tremor totems on that fight since the fear really doesn't last long at all and you get your toon back quite fast via interact (need to toss a heal on him though).

For James Brown, simply brute force him. Ignore the soul fragments, and when they heal him, just do more damage again. Lots of aoe healing after each of his aoes. In phase two, simply heal whoever gets feared, and IWT to run them back into the safe zone. If you can make it to phase two, you are in the easy zone, as it's just tank and spank with random single target fear.

For the Devourer of souls - Move your guys before he jumps - as soon as the purple thing appears under someone, move your team. He has 3 faces, and you can tell what's going to happen by what face is active. I just keep my guys on af the entire time, move them all when he jumps, aoe heal through the ghosts, and make sure that....

For the Devourer of souls: NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER LET YOUR TEAM BE IN FRONT OF THE FEMALE FACE. EVER. I MEAN EVER. That is the face that does the ridiculous frontal beam aoe. When that face spins around and focuses on someone, get your team the hell away from it. If you make sure you never are in front of the female face, and can move your guys before he jumps, this fight is not too difficult.

this is all on heroic, btw
