    Default ISBoxer Help

How do I change the default console key for Innerspace? I don't want it to be the tilde key.

Ok, should be my final problem with ISBoxer:

I had to change the ingame resolution of my alt boxes to 1920x1200 in order to get repeater regions to work properly. This killed my FPS. I went from 60 capped on main and 30 capped on alts even in Dalaran to maybe ~25-30 on main at best. If I change the main windows options to non-windowed mode then it fixes all of the problems with FPS but then no longer functions with ISBoxer.

    Suggestions?

In the toolkit, one of the last options is, "Virtual Files".
Expand that, and left click on Config.WTF.

Then scroll up to the top of the top pane.
    And expand Characters.

Drag every character down to the left pane.
I believe the default virtualization is: Config-Name-Server.WTF

This lets you change settings and have them saved on a per character basis.
You can minimize every option, or choose to minimize most, but keep view distance or whatever.
Some require a restart, so clicking options - video etc, from the log-in/password screen is a good idea.

Your slaves having lower settings will be less of a strain on the system.
Also, looking downwards on the slaves helps some too; less things to render below you then ahead of you.

    Unfortunately, you have the choice...
    a) render everything at the size of the large screen, and then resize the slave windows downwards.
    b) render the slaves at their smaller size.

Option a, is what gives the accurate mouse clicks for repeater regions and general broadcasting.
It is what gives you instant pip swaps too.

Option b, is essentially what most of the other boxing options seem to do.
The PiP isn't fast, mouse isn't accurate etc.
But it plays a bit more smoothly.

You should let ISboxer set up the windows, so it will render correctly. Other than that there might be other things affecting your video. Might want to share your config so Lax can analyze it.

Edit: I meant your ISboxer config file

I've got a I7 920, 12 gigs of corsair dd3, a gefore 275gtx and I'm getting 30 fps if I'm lucky. That just seems like there's something else going on.

    I'm basically the same system.

    i7 920, stock speed.
    12gb mushkin ddr3 1600mhz
    Geforce 275 GTX, 896mb.
    150GB Raptor, 10k rpm.

I have the main capped at 60 FPS, and the slaves at 30 FPS.

In Dalaran, I get 20-30 FPS on the main, and honestly the slave windows are too small to read what they're running at.

Outside, in most zones I get at least 50 FPS, but it spends most of its time at 63.2 FPS, which appears to be my maximum, with a 60 FPS cap. Slave windows appear smooth to the eye, but the actual FPS number is too small to read.

On patch day, I was seeing 20-40 FPS, in the outdoor zones that normally give me 63 FPS. It has since gone back to normal.

I appreciate the information Ualaa, but this most specifically happened after I changed the in-game settings of WoW so that I could get the repeater regions working. I used the ISBoxer Wizard and then modified keys and other things, so it set up the windows.

Does anyone have any input on this performance issue? My understanding is that my alt windows were at a much lower resolution. The repeater region was showing up off-screen basically. So I had to change their resolutions to match the main screen to get it in the right place. This of course killed my performance.

Is there any way to get the repeater region to match up on the main box and the 4 alt boxes while at a different resolution? I was getting 60fps capped in Dalaran with near-max settings before I had to change the resolutions of the alt boxes.

The windows *have* to be at the same resolution in order to get accurate mouse repeating. If you want the repeater regions to match up with different resolutions, what you can do is move whatever you're clicking on to the upper portion of the screen. Because the resolutions are different, the size and position of the things you're wanting to click on are going to be different too... but you can do it if you want.

The problem with wanting to play at 1920x1200 with 5 characters is that it's a huge resolution! You don't have to run all your windows at 1920x1200. You can set them all to a smaller resolution instead, via the Desired Rendering Size option. 1280x800 is the same aspect ratio, but smaller. This would drastically improve your performance, you'd just have to get used to the game looking slightly different (blown up).

When you get the resolution you want, there are things you can do in the game to increase your FPS. Drop video settings to lowest, drop view distance to lowest and point camera downward on all but your main, and so on.
